I have one night at VGF, followed by a week at BCV. I've got the DDP for VGF only, not BCV. I just realized I'll get a refillable mug at VGF. Does anyone know if the refillable mug will be active the rest of the week at BCV (since they're usually activated for 14 days) or is it only good for the time I'm on the dining plan-at VGF?

This is why I love having multiple contracts! I will usually book my first night as a one night reservation for this exact reason. One day dining plan (either one) is a no brainer if it is your first night. Here is my tip...if you are getting the regular dining plan, the Fantasmic dinner package at Hollywood and Vine is a great was to use your table credit. The $24 for the mug and $81 for the H&V package means your quick service meal and the snack are free!

You can do it with a single contract too. Just book a single night and then the rest of your stay.

So when I get to my first resort how do I get my mug? Just go in to the quick serve and they'll give me one after verifying that I'm on the dining plan? It just automatically is loaded for 14 days? And my last question (I hope!)-exactly when will the dining end? I was planning to stay until around 10:00am, then have Bell Services pick up my suitcase and head on over for my QS breakfast at an adjacent resort (specifically, I'm staying at VGF but I want to get the Tonga Toast over at Captain Cook's) but I'm so afraid that the system will assume I've checked out and I won't get my QS credit. Oh-and I've decided to have the 1900 Park Fare Character Meal for dinner (I've already checked-it's one credit). I'm so excited-this seems almost too good to be true!

Can I get the mug if our DDP is at the 2nd leg of split stay? We are staying at OKW for 6 nights then moving onto GFV for 6 nights but only have the Ddp for the last 6 nights at GFV, would I be able to get the cup when we arrive at OKW if we show our DDP plan for GFV? (Would be 12 nights total?

Wouldn’t think so… there would be no way to activate it since it is date based.

That’s why If I do a split stay with DDP I always get it at the beginning.

I tried that once and member services combined them. So I learned the trick if I want to do that is to add someone extra to the reservation that does not have the dining plan attached to it.

Your 1 night meal plan is good for the day you arrive and the day after. You can get max out of it...dinner when you arrive and lunch or dinner next day LOL!
Here is my advice if you plan on using credits past noon on your checkout day if you are moving from one Disney hotel to another... Be prepared to charge your meal to your magicband - never to a credit card!!! In May, I did one night with dining plan at Copper Creek, then moved to Fort Wilderness. Went to use my mug credit at Trails End on my changeover day, and it would not pull up at the register because I was already showing with the FW reservation. I went to guest relations and they had to give me paper vouchers to use.

I moved from Poly yesterday, where I had the Dining Plan for 4 days, to Grand Floridian.I used my last QS credit around 12:30 for lunch and all was fine. I was planning on using my last table service credit for dinner at Enzo's last night (and I had 3 snack credits I was going to use at MK). Sure enough, I had them scan my band at Enzo's and no record of the dp since they could only access the Grand Floridian reservation. So I put it on my magicband and stopped at Guest Relations as soon as I got back to the resort. They were able to verify I did indeed still have that credit available, and so they removed the charge from my account. But they CAN'T do that if you charge the meal to a credit card. And because I knew that was how it worked, I made sure to leave a cash tip to make it easier. They will ask to see your receipt to verify the amount to remove. I was then given 3 paper vouchers for my snack credits because that is easier for them than to have to do the whole credit thing again :)

I have read about this issue with split stays before (thankfully). We have a split stay with 8 nights at POR with free QS dining (UK offer) then move to Grand Floridian. I know credits are valid until midnight, and envisage we'll be using the last few at the GF QS for dinner and snacks. The previous post recommended discussing it with front desk staff when checking into the second resort to ensure they are still visible on MDE.

Had split stay last year DVC 2 nights GF & then onto AK & lastly OK (a race weekend, had to take what was available lol)

Bought the DP for 1st 2 nights only. Late to realizing the mug would work for the full trip, duh. Was nice perc for the kiddo.

Had no issue using both QS & TS entitlements after checking out of GF & into AK @ steakhouse 71 for dinner the 3rd day. When inquiring upon checkin to GF, were told to hold onto our room keys, along with a linked MB & present to waiter for that dinner. Worked flawlessly. Could be that the waiter made it so :confused3.

OP I’d just ask @ the front desk when u do arrive at the 1st resort to determine what the current protocol is.

We have a one night followed by a two night stay at Poly (decided to add the extra night after original booking) and only dining plan on the two night stay. Do you think we may have issues with them combining the reservations?

That's a great way to use the dining plan. I'm from Canada and so my check out day is wasted with getting to the airport for a mid day flight. I'm doing a split stay with a week at BC and 3 nights at BW this year. I'm considering the dining plan since that last day at BC gives me a time to use up all of my dining plan.

I think you’ll be fine if you’ve already added the dining plan to that second reservation.
