Dining plan credits and reservations question.

After looking through some of the posts I think I have confused myself and would like some clarification.
We are headed for a trip in October and will have the regular Disney dining plan. My immediate family is in one room and my in laws have a separate room. They also have the dining plan. We have booked and paid for everything separately, but have them linked to our family and friends so that I could set up fastpasses, reservations, etc for them. We have reservations at CRT one night for dinner for the 6 of us.
I just want to be sure: they do not pool our rooms dining credits together, do they? Or is that an option? My inlaws are older and prefer my husband and I to kind of handle things for them.
Assuming that is not an option, when we go, will we be to “split” our check so that my inlaws TS credits are used from their pool and our TS credits come from our pool? I know it’s a 2 credit pp meal so I just want it to show that we have enough credits for everyone as that is at the end of our trip.
Also, we have lunch reservations one day at BOG. If I am preordering will all the credits have to come from my pool?
I can make this work if need be and we can have quick service from their credits later, I would just like to prepare myself on how to handle things. We have not used the dining plan before.

The credits are grouped by rooms, not by MDE account. When you go to pay at meals you eat together, someone from each room will have to scan their magic band for the bill for the people in that room.

At BOG on a preorder, all credits must come from one room. Cannot split that check.

This is correct- the only way to have the BOG lunch credits come from two different room’s credits is to have two separate reservations, or skip per-ordering and order at a kiosk inside. Ordering at a kiosk can take longer but may be more of a solution than getting a separate reservation.
