Oh, I so want it to be true. If so, I guess we'll know for sure in a few days. I'm on pins and needles! :rotfl2:

Urghhh! Why or why are all my posts mistimed-I posted at 6:05 p.m. pst, not 4:44!

Just got off the phone with Disney Dining and the CM I spoke to checked and checked for me and in the end told me she really couldn't comment because it wasn't posted on a Official Disney website. But she suggested I call back on the 1st or the 2nd of July for confirmation. So I'm still wondering:confused3

Ohh, sounds interesting but then you only have 1 post, so should we believe you? Hmmmmm? I so want to believe. :goodvibes

The only thing that makes me second guess that this could not be possible is that they did say back in January that they were going to review things and if changes needed to be made they would revisit it after six months. I doubted it would really happen, but perhaps it is true. If it is I might reconsider. If not, I am no worse off today than I was yesterday!

Okay here we go.....OFFICIAL word from management at WDW. This person is lying. The management right up the chain checked this out and again, they would not implement a change that would impact reservations that had already been made like this. In a nutshell, the comment was, we are now on a non Disney website and information like this, IF IT WERE ACCURATE, would be posted on the official WDW website.

They are understandably concerned about this but it is an absolute LIE! Again, WalMart......go away! Are you happy now??????? :confused3

OP mentioned those already booked could upgrade for free. Does this mean Disney is planning to raise the price for the dining plan 1/2 way into the year?

Yeah...this is so true...and I also heard they're up grading anyone who wants to from a moderate to a deluxe...but only if they want to...and if there's room...i think...oh and value people too.

very sad ...just wish it was true but i do believe disney wouldn't do something like this in the middle of the year thanks mskayjay for checking
this out for us :)

I seriously have to wonder about the mental health of someone who creates an account at a website just to post outrageous lies?:worried:

I mean seriously why would anyone bother????
Walmart my dear... how about a stamp collection or maybe you could get into making popsicle stick art or macaroni necklaces? It would be better use of your time and probably quite therapeutic.:rolleyes1

Oh well, it was exciting for a minute to think we'd have an all inclusive plan again!

I"m honestly suprised that one of our MOD's haven't shut this down yet:confused3

OP...if you work for a wonderful company named Disney, then why are you advertising for Wal Mart?:rolleyes1

While I'm not a mod on this board and therefore what I post here is strictly as another member of the DIS... NOT as a moderator.

Changes to things mid-year can and do happen. Please note - Pleasure Island is closing September 27th.. not year end as many had speculated.

Disney *could* in theory institute a revised version of the Dining Plan for more $$$. For those with current reservations, you can keep what you have, or upgrade to the new plan and pay the difference.

For those on the 'free dining' promotion, you would receive what you were promisedat the time of booking.

Disney's computers could easily include a new dining plan option mid-year. Would it be confusing? Heck yes! Would it be a mess? You betcha. Is Disney likely to do this? Who knows?? The one consistent thing you can learn from Disney - is that they will do what they darned well please for the most part and predicting it is nearly impossible.

That said.. You can call Disney about ANYTHING and get 32 different answers. Do I believe this? Not particularly, but then as I said, I could probably pick up the phone call right now and get a different answer... and STILL be wrong.

Patience is the key.. if this is in fact true, or if it is not true, we'll know in a day or two.

No need to get all wound up in the interim.

That's my 2 cents.

:)

Well ya know....these folks are probably volunteers and to sit on every single post as it comes out is asking a bit much. I think they do a good job nipping crap in the bud and when they are ready, they will take whatever appropriate action they think is necessary with this thread.

Most important thing is we know now for sure, OP was lying. I will not put up the CM and manager names here but I have every confidence in what they told me. It makes me SICK that someone has nothing better to do with his/her time than to try to cause this kind of grief to families and WDW. How cruel when you have families literally saving pennies to afford a trip to see this, get their hopes up and then have them dashed. What an absolute jerk!!!!!
