Dining plan and DVC rental

We have rented points through a DVC rental company and have purchased our tickets. This is for a February 2017 vacation we are planning. Since we have our hotel reservation on our My Disney experience account linked through the rental company, are we able to purchase a dining plan too? We have never done the dining plan before but know that dining at disney is expensive. This is for 2 adults and 1 4 year old. Any tips appreciated thanks.

Yes, you can purchase the dining plan, but you have to do it through whoever you're renting from....and it has to be paid in full when you purchase it.
