We've never done the CP but plan to this year. We have the free dining plan and wondered if we can use the dining plan credits for the CP. Can anyone tell me from last year how many credits per person it takes, if you can use plan credits? Thanks in advance!

I used a dining plan credit for the Candlelight Processional Dining Package this past December. The credits depend on the restaurant you book, the same as when using the DDP on a regular meal. Signature dining restaurants are two credits and standard restaurants are one credit.

I used one dining plan credit at Biergarten with no problem. If I went to Le Cellier, the package would have been two credits. I thought it was a really good use of a credit.

They gave me my ticket at the end of the meal. The Candlelight Processional was amazing. I got a great seat for Gary Sinise and the whole thing was so good!

Are you upgrading the QS free plan? I’m pretty sure you need Table Service credits for CP.

What about if you make ADRs before CP packages are announced? Will I have to cancel my reservation and make a new one to change to the CP meal?

No, no need to cancel any reservations unless you want to. As long as it's not the same name, date, and time, the system may not let you do that. Nothing is tied to the DDP, you can chose to use your credits when dining or pay outside the plan. If you do have a TS reservation and don't need it, do cancel so you aren't charged a no-show fee.

Thank you so much for taking time to answer my question, but I was not very clear. Let's say I reserve garden grill breakfast for my epcot day and later it comes out that garden grill can be a cp package restaurant. I think I would need to cancel my reservation and then rebook it as the cp package still having breakfast at garden grill. I have a lot of experience with making dining reservations but this will be my first time on the free dining package. Thanks again!

You are right as far as I know. If you want to book a CP dinner package, you have to book it when they come out, there’s no way to change your prior reservation to include the CP package, even if they are offered at the restaurant where you already have a regular dinner reservation.
