Dining out on the weekends?

We out a couple of times a month sometimes more sometimes less. Not always on weekends as some weekends I work. We have 2 teens at home and sometimes we go as a family and at time just DH and I. I also go at times with friends. Sometimes we do brunch or lunch during the week as DH works from home. I like try new and different restaurants.

We don’t, only because the restaurants are crazy jammed pack and I/we don’t have the patience to wait 45+ minutes. I’d like to start going out once a week on a weekday, but then I just go ahead and cook.

We get takeout for birthdays - whatever the celebrant wants. It is usually good fried fish/seafood (we live in NH) but sometimes we get a request for pizza or Chinese food. Other than that, no we don't eat out.

Friday and Saturday dinner has always been prepared somewhere other than home. Nothing fancy, and at least once a month the restaurant was Dennys. Since the pandemic the only change is we are more likely to do "to go" now. But in the last few months we have been more comfortable with dine in, but with the ongoing shortage of staff, some restaurants have long waits for dine in.

We go out at least 3 times a weekend. DH & I met when I was a single mom with 2 kids and I had nearly full custody of them -- their father took them for a few hours on a Saturday. So we never really got the opportunity to date in the traditional way. Now that 4 of the 5 kids are grown and moved out and the youngest is 18 and never wants to go out with us (we ask almost every time we go out), we're making up for all the years we didn't really get to date. We mostly go to local privately owned restaurants -- and on rare occasion we'll go to a chain restaurant.

We have never been much of going out to eat. On the weekends we enjoy just being home and not leaving. We like to cook though. And, as others said my issue is also spending so much money for the dining with sub-par service. But on vacation, I love going out to eat. But it's because it is a vacation and the cost doesn't bother me as it's part of the vacation. But in everyday life, nope, rather cook at home.

We do it too much yes... I guess it is more the experience than the food. In my opinion we spend way too much, and the food is not good for you.

If it was up to me, I would be happy saving money and having healthy cheap stuff at home.

I don’t go out often, and never on the weekends. It’s too crowded usually and I don’t like to wait. Will usually get some type of takeout a couple times a month (pizza or hoagies stuff like that), then maybe lunch once or twice a month (usually a burger type place). Maybe once a month a sit down dinner.

We vacation a 3-6 times a year and of course eat out that whole time so we figure that’s our eating out. As others have said, it gets expensive and I feel like the food I cook is better than most I get out.

I could have written this post exactly!
