Ok....I'm working on my itinerary and driving the hubby and kids crazy. We chose the MYW dining plan for 8 of our 10 nights. The first two nights are a room only reservation. I should point out that we are paying for 2 adults and 2 children (ages 10 and 13). I am hoping to be able to pay for the 10 year olds buffet meals out of pocket for my 4 scheduled buffets and save those 4 credits for a really nice dinner at the end of the week. This itinerary is just for our table services and the counter service we plan on "winging" it.

1st night- No parks, eat at Trail's End in FW, and hope to catch the campfire program.

2nd day- before hitting MK eat breakfast at Chef Mickey's, later that evening at Liberty Tree Tavern

3rd day- This now begins our dining plan.....MGM with a Hollywood and Vine Fantasmic dinner package

4th day- Epcot and dinner at the Biergarten

5th day- Rest 1/2 the day, eat dinner at Cindy's Castle, and attend MVMCP if available and if not have to switch plans with another day.

6th day- This is a whatever day, meaning TL, BB, DQ, Shopping, visiting other resorts, swimming, etc and then eating dinner at O'hanas

7th day- Animal Kingdom and later eating dinner at Whispering Canyon in WL

8th day- MK at least half day, maybe Epcot other half and dinner at the Concourse Steakhouse

9th day- Epcot and dinner at Rose and Crown

10th day- Yachtsman Steakhouse

11th day- head home :(

My goal is to try to set our table services whereever we are or close to there. I am just wondering what some of you veterans think of this plan. I am so not used to having to schedule itineraries. Our vacations usually consist of relaxing and doing things at our own pace. My husband wants to know why he needs to tell me where he wants to eat so far in advance. He also keeps telling me to just let him know when and where he has to be. Can anyone relate? Please let me know what you think.

Thanks!

We're staying at Coronado Springs and as far as I know the Mayan Grill and Pepper Market currently are not accepting the dining plan.

I can totally relate. My husband thinks that I am totally crazy. But the first time that we went to Disney, I did no planning. And that trip doesn't even compare to the six since. (even my husband admits that). But he does tell me that he only wants to hear once I have made a decision. Not all of the planning in between. It drives him nuts. I love the planning. And once I plan everything, the changing of plans. He has also limited me to planning two trips. It is an ongoing "discussion" in our house. :rotfl:

I read on a previous thread that the Pepper Market was accepting the dining plan. I am not sure if this is correct though. :confused3

This is my understanding from reading the boards... *I* have not tested this out though...

You can not use the MYW Dining for the Fantasmic Dinner Package.

Just thought I'd mention this so you can double check. :) Good Luck and let us know what you find out. :)

Hmmmmm.....I was told specifically by a CM at CRS that I would be able to schedule a Fantasmic dinner package without me even asking. I had merely asked some of the restaurants participating and was told that Hollywood and Vine were as well as MaMa Melrose's. He added that I could do the Brown Derby if we wanted to use two table services. When I asked about the Pepper Market and Mayan Grill were on the list, I was told no. He also said to check back before coming down as more may become available. Perhaps this is what happened with the other person in the other post?! Since this is our first time and with being on a package I am trying to schedule at least the table services in the itinerary. I have some time to watch posts in between now and then also :cheer2: That's good for us since the pioneers should have the bugs worked out by then.

Poor hubby ... but planning is half the fun!

You've got all my favorites on the list - particularly Rose and Crown (for the food) and Cinderella's Castle (for the ambiance). The only place I might add is Le Cellier in Canada -- I know, not exotic, but every experience I have there is better than the last -- though it looks like you have Epcot covered.

It's probably a good idea to play counter service by ear. It doesn't look like you're being at all unrealistic about where you can get to and from in a day. And, this "veteran" would like to add her name to the list of those who swear by a bit of advance planning. Makes all the difference on these trips.

You'll have a marvelous time even if you change your mind and decide to eat only hamburgers the whole time! Best of luck with the planning.

I stand corrected! I was now told by a CM at CRS that we may dine at Hollywood & Vine, but that it is not on the package for the Fantasmic dinner show. What doesn't make sense to me is that there is no additional charge for the package like this so why would they disclude that? We were going to go to Hollywood & Vine primarily for this package so I may chose somewhere else in it's place and just stand in line for Fantasmic.
