I'm looking for a great place for dinner in MK or near it - it's just my DH, DS and myself. I'm trying to stay relatively close for a special firework viewing at MK (it's a secret for my boys :D) on Friday night since it'll be our last night there :(. I'm looking for a sit down type place with a menu that has some variety. Any suggestions folks?:earsboy: :earsgirl:

Do you want to be able to see the fireworks from the restaurant? If so here's a few to try:

1. California Grill at the Contemporary Resort
2. 'Ohana at the Polynesian resort
3. Narcoosee's at the Grand Floridian resort
4. Cinderella's Royal Table in the Magic Kingdom

You can check out the menus at www.wdwig.com

Hope this helps.

Do I understand correctly that you will be returning to the MK for the fireworks? If so, any of the monorail restaurants are realtively convenient. For a wider variety of food, places that come to mind include California Grill and Kona. Citricos and Narcoossee's are great too but have more limited menus.

In the MK, I agree with theCastle or even the Plaza Restaurant (not Plaza Pavillion) if sandwiches and salads will do.

I'm doing a vacation of a lifetime for us and going totally deluxe.:teeth: I've booked a surprise FC for Wishes at MK that night for my DH & DS. I wanted to stay fairly close so we didn't have transportation issues. Then I gotta find a way to get them there without totally blowing it! I'm about to pop with all the surprises I have in store for them for this trip. I had to tell my DH's mom just to get it off my chest before I went bonkers:crazy:! I've kept this trip top secret & it's been realllllyyyy hard for me. I won't even let my DH look at e-mails from my TA and he's getting pretty suspicious.

BCV23 - Do you mean Tony's Plaza or something like that (Lady & the Tramp theme)? I believe that is one of the places I was considering.

I've been checking on allearsnet.com for menus for the restaurants you guys have suggested. Can anyone tell me if the menus that are posted out there are complete or are they just a basic overview of what is offered?

Thanks for all your insight!

No, I didn't mean Tony's.....I don't care for it myself. I meant the Plaza Restaurant. It's a small restaurant around the corner to the right at the end of Main ST. Great sandwichs and salads but the menu is the same all day long.

The menus for CRT and the Plaza look fairly complete but without the entree salads.

Where are you being picked up for your FW cruise? The time we did one for the MK FW, we were staying at the Polynesian but having dinner at Narcoossee's so I asked to be picked up at the GF marina. If I were you, I'd look at the menus for the resort monorail restaurants and pick a spot for dinner and arrange to be picked up for the cruise from that resort. Easy to stroll down to the marina after dinner to "look around the resort. Oh, and this boat...it's for us!"

That is an awesome idea on getting picked up at resort after dinner::yes::! They wouldn't suspect a thing;) ! Gosh - I owe you big:wave2: !

Happy planning.:sunny:
