Dining disappointments?

Just curious about peoples disappointments, either favorite places that you've been before or places that you were anxious to try and didn't live up to the expectations

This past trip 10/21-11/5

Columbia House - This is one of our favorites and my meal was terrible, fish was hard and nasty and the clam chowder was scary with those huge pieces of gritty clam. Also miss the bread bowl!!

50's PT, the service was horrible.
Chef's De France, I didn't really like the food, it was expensive and bland.
San Angel Inn - too expensive for mexican food that I could get for 10$ at home.

I think our biggest disappointment was the San Angel Inn. We loved the atmosphere, but the food was sub-par. They couldnt even get the nachos right that night.

I would go with the Akershus Storybook Dining and Tusker House to be our major disappointments last year.

Unfortunately, Le Cellier. It was fabulous when we ate there 3 years ago. It was so good, DH wanted to eat there again so I managed to get a ressie 180 days out but it was for 4pm on Halloween. It was the only thing available for our week we were going to be there. I don't know if it was because we were the first ones seated for dinner or because of the DDP, they want to get as many people in and out as possible, but we were so rushed. We didn't have dessert but if I'm paying over $100 oop, (we weren't on the DDP) dinner shouldn't take under 45 minutes. Drinks came, bread came, we had the soup for an appetizer which came out 2 seconds after ordering and about 5 minutes after finishing our soup, (our soup bowls hadn't even been removed yet) our entrees came out. DH had the filet and he said it was good, but I ordered the prime rib and ordered it medium rare, it came out raw. I had a hard time getting our waiter to take it back and cook it a little longer. Didn't like the waiter, he was a little snooty and we felt like he was talking down to us. Food was ok this time but we said we'd definitely try somewhere else next time.

Hollywood and Vine. Went for the first time in 2004 and enjoyed it... went again on our trip in 2007 and was disgusted. All of our favorite dishes had been replaced and the food was just sub-par. Not to mention, someone had thrown up on the floor in the bathroom when we went to wash our hands before dinner, and when we went back to the restroom after dinner, it still had not been cleaned up.

Gotta say Coral Reef was our biggest let down on our last trip. Poor service and mediocre food ruined the meal. That, and the volume level of the place was amazing (and not in a good way!)

50's Prime Time

I was so looking forward to the meal and the sassy waitress. But we had terrible service with little sass and the meal was dry even though it came out 3 minutes after I ordered it. It may have been my least favorite disney dining experience to date.

Cape May-- good desserts but the rest was blah. Rubber Mussels and mealy clams.

San Angel-- great atmosphere but poor food and probably the worst service in all of WDW.

Another one for 50's Prime Time.

I was the only one who knew what it was suppose to be like and when we left there, the family was ok with the atmosphere except that the server we had was blah, unlike the ones around us, and the food was the most awful stuff we've ever tried to eat!!! We got chicken nuggets and pizza when we left there!!!

WOW, I can Honestly say we have had NO bad experiences in all our visits.
My ds just walked in and said he really disliked the food court area at AKL, but I thought it was okay!

For us, it was Flying Fish. It was always one of our favorites, but it fell way short of our expectations on our last visit. Our meal at Les Chefs de France was much better. Our best meal by far was at Hollywood Brown Derby, which we didn't enjoy at all the 1st time we ate there. The truth is, things change so much in the restaurants, it's hard to make a decision based on your own experiences, much less others.

Mama Melrose and Coral Reef. CR used to be our favorite. We won't go back.

I hope no one wants to kill me for this, but I had a terrible experience at Crystal Palace. The waitress was just atrocious: she never cleared our plates, came to see how the food was, or got us refills. And we could not find her anywhere!

The food was nothing great to me either. I have eaten here in the past before and while it has never been one of my top restaurants, I usually enjoy it much more.

One tip, never do a 9:30pm reservation at CP. While there were about 10 other parties seated the same time as us, they still removed half the buffet about 10 minutes after we got there and by the time we were eating dessert, half the stuff was gone. Very disappointing. I will not be back.

I've never had a bad experience. Yeah at CP it was pretty busy and it took them a bit to fill our cups or clear our plates but oh well. It was busy and they were working and friendly!!!

I'm not picky person or eater and neither is DH. So we enjoy it everywhere we go! Seriously.....the food has to be inedible for me to complain!

I've never had what I would call a bad meal, my expectations regarding food in WDW goes w/ flow. I would have higher expectations at JIko or let's say Yachtmen's Steakhouse. The food at Epcot I think is good, I've eaten at most of the restaurants and nothing as stood out as far as food. Sure at Le Cellier it's very loud and you feel like cattle being herded in and out. Prime Tiem is hit or miss depending on the waitress, the food is simple but good. As far as the food courts, I get pretty much what I expect. The worst thing about WDW is at times the wait. If I want 4 or 5 star I go outside of disney!

Whispering Canyon Cafe--biggest disappointment (thought it was way overrated); Brown Derby and Boatwright's would be next on that list.

Also, the food court at CBR--I'd rathe reat McDonald's seven nights a week.

Now see, we've loved it, we like African food but now that DS(12) and best friend is (11)and considered "Adults" I can't see paying that price for what little they eat! It's steep. I'll bring them back when there 16 and eating me out of house and home!

Cape May.
Not that it was really bad but DH and I were less than impressed and expected the seafood to be better.
Hollywood and Vine-didn't care for it too much.
Other than that we have always been very pleased with everywhere we have gone at WDW.
