It says on disneys website no tank tops in dining room. Almost all my dresses and nice shirts I planned on wearing to dinner are sleeveless. Do they enforce this rule?

I believe no tank tops means no "wife beater" type undershirts worn as actual clothes. Most of my dresses for cruising are sleeveless which is a long way from a ratty tank top.

That was my thought exactly! Was wondering if the no tank top rule was mainly for men. All my dress shirts are sleeveless- think I'll bring a shrug to put on top if needed.

I believe that nice sleeveless is very different than the tank tops they are referring to. For lack of a better term, they are talking "wife beater" t-shirts and tanks with large side opening to below the rib cage or more.

yes, that is exactly what it means above. You are allowed to wear a nice sleeveless shirt or dress...but no ratty tanks.

i do want to state though that the dining rooms can be super cold, like 50 degrees cold! I always bring a shawl or cardigan with me to cover up.

Looks like I got beat to it while I was typing.

As noted "tank tops" doesn't refer to sleeveless tops, just the undershirt type top that term was originally coined for.

I wore sundresses (had the 1 1/2 inch straps though) every evening for dinner and no one batted an eye. I did have to wear a cardigan though as I thought it was too cool in the dining rooms (and it was cold out on the deck 4 when we would walk before and after dinner)

Most of my nice dresses are sleeveless. I've worn them, plus other more casual maxi-type dresses on the ship without anyone looking askance, including to Palo.

Don't worry about the opinions here of what "tank top" refers to. Since they are combined with swimsuits in the dress guidelines, obviously Disney is asking to keep out very inappropriate dinner attire. If you look nice you will be absolutely, positively fine. Period. Dinner dress is so far casual from the old days that you'll see just about anything goes. Sleeves/sleeveless is so far from anyone's concern...
