Dining at Plaza Inn before park opens?

I heard you could get in early, even without a MM ticket, if you book a character breakfast at the Plaza Inn. Sure enough, I called disney dining and got 7:10 reservations for Minnie and Friends on a Tuesday. They assured me I don't need a MM ticket to get in. How does this work though? Since Tues IS a MM day, there will be lines early. Do I still have to wait in the lines, even if some of those people are just there waiting for 8:00 entry? I'm confused. Anyone else done this already? TIA!

There will be a line for you to enter thru. You will need to find the CM with a clipboard and they will find your ressie on the list, check you off and then you will be escorted to the Plaza Inn for breakfast. :)

When we were there last week, the entry for the Plaza Inn breakfast was at the very left side of the gates...right before you get to Guest Services. There was a gentleman there with the clipboard checking reservations and letting people in.

Thank you so much! I didn't want to look like too much of an idiot, or make any one mad that is waiting in line.

So does that preclude you from entering the park area if you do not have a MM pass?

If you have a pre-opening breakfast but no MM then you would be escorted to breakfast. You would not be allowed to leave the breakfast restaurant without an escort until the area around the restaurant is open to the public. The only benefit is that at exactly opening time you would be closer to the rides than other guests at opening but you have to time your dining to get your going just at opening time.

We did that with the Wine and Food Festival after hours events. We got wristbands and had to be escorted to and from the restaurant by a CM.

Yes, I don't plan on leaving the restaurant before 8. I'm getting my money's worth on that breakfast, lol. I just really wanted to do the character dining with the kids without wasting precious morning park time. They are all up early and hungry, so I thought this would work best.
