Our family of 5 has a bounce back for 8/26 thru 9/5 at CBR with free dining (10 nights), with 10 day water park plus tickets for $4400. I was checking today and we can go to POR for 7 nights with 7 day MYW tickets for $3200 (No dining) for 4/24 thru 5/1.

I like April better and the trip in April will probably come to the same price once we add in how much meals will cost while staying on property. My kids want August because they love the free dining (getting large latte's at Starbucks and going to all the best sit down restaurants). The trip in August will also be 3 days longer and on our trip this past August, it was great having 10 days because we could take our time at everything.

August is a sauna and easywdw is saying that the last week of April is 4/5 crowd levels which is really low (I find this a little hard to believe). What would most of you do in this situation? Go when we get 3 extra days or go in April (is last week of April that much cooler?). Thanks for any input.

It's a tough call - I'd be hard pressed to turn down 3 extra days as well as free dining. However, as you've said the temps in April will be so much better, and between that and lower crowds you might have enough extra productivity to make the missed days a little easier to bear. We went the end of April this year and it was fabulous weather-wise and crowds were manageable. April is also a lot sooner, so less waiting. :) However, if you wait until August you will get to see both the new Frozen attraction, as well as the Rivers of Light show in AK. For those reasons combined with free dining and the extra days, I would personally stick with August. I hate the heat - I just wouldn't want to miss the new attractions. Even worse is that you might miss them by a matter of a month or so.

We have the FD BB offer starting August 26th too. We are going for 15 days total (usually 10-16 days) and I totally agree with you when you say it doesn't feel as rushed because you have 10 days. I would always pick 'more days' at Disney. We love spending 1/2 the day at the park and 1/2 the day at the resort pool (to help with the heat). I'm like your kids lol ... venti Starbucks rock! especially when they are a part of 'free dining' :thumbsup2 I would stay with August.

Extra days win out for me every time. We love free dining in August and I hate the heat. But we do it (and love it) every single year.

I would pick April in a heartbeat, cooler than the blazing sun in August. Although the free dining is something to think about, especially if you are going with family.

I personally really doubt the crowd levels will be any lower in April than August, because many schools will be back in already with those dates. This year, those dates that you're looking at were running down in the 3s. So considering you'd get free dining, 3 more days, and very likely lower crowds - I'd say August hands down.

Yes, we are a family of 5, 2 adults, 2 Disney adults and 1 child. We love going to a nice sit down meal every night and my 2-12 year olds have to pay the adult price and a dinner at Ohana's would cost us over $200, so free dining works great with so many people.

I think the extra days are good in August because you can't get as much done. We go in August every year and we have consistently had a great time even with the bad weather. I would go for August with the FD.

I would go strictly by time of year and not by cost unless there was a large discrepancy and I would certainly prefer being in Florida in April to August. I would rather spend more money then deal with the ADR rush that free dining causes.

I totally get it. When my boys were teenagers we used to take of the free dining plan during the end of September. They can eat you out of house and home.

I don't think the free dining causes any more rush in obtaining ADR's than regular. Some of the ressies are just hard to get period. When people are reserving those reservations the CM's don't know if you are getting the dining plan free or not.

I love the weather in April, but with your specifics, I'd stick with August! You get more days there, plus free dining!! Seems hard to beat, to me!

Time wise Yes April would be better.....But for me, Even after 11 - 12 visits, I'd still prefer more nights to fewer ( especially for the same price ).
Plus I like POR a ton more than CBR...

We would chose August as well. Crowds should be light be then and the extra days and dining help too much.
