Just wondering....We are going to Niagara falls. I have a good camera so I just thought if anyone knew of an ok point and shoot waterproof digital for around $200 or less......I would love to use it for behind the falls, maid of the mist etc...
Oh and I know it won't take fantastic pictures, I know I will not be able to capture low light pictures, I might be disappointed with the quality...but my only other option are the throw away film kind......I figure I will need at least 4 and then the cost of developing...so that is already $50....We usually get several a year for water parks etc....

Typically you can pick up complete waterproof housings for most of the newer P&S digitals from about $25 - $125. So if you factor that price in as a minimal investment, then you can concentrate on a good P&S :rolleyes1 and just get a separate housing for it. They also make bags to place a camera in to protect it from rain and mild moisture as well.

Amazon has Pentax Optio W30 for $230, it's a good little camera. I have the older W10 and it's great in and out of water.

Wow thanks for the link! I actually have an old olympus sylus camera! That would be a fantastic way to go! I will have to get it from my mom....hand me down......cheaper too! Thanks!
I did see the Pentax one...which I thought could be an option too! I have some SD cards......
Thanks!

New: Pentax Optio W series are in the price range (just over).
Used: LOVE (emphasis LOVE) the Sony DSC-60u as a knockaround beach camera. (Ebay, about $150), probably more snapshot than anything formal.

Spend a little more, and I know the new Olympus camera can go deeper, and are tougher.

Ricoh has some older ones you could get used under $200, but I have no experience with them....

I like the Pentax (have a WP), because it's small, and always at the ready. It's my "backup disney camera" for when the rains come. It's nice not having to mess around with bulky external housings.

But the Aquapacs looks really nice if you already have the camera you want to use.

The Fuji Finepix A400 is about $100. It is a 4 megapixel camera that uses xD Cards. They also sell a Water proof casing for about $80

I am planning on getting the W30 for our cruise next month. However, I don't know who to buy it from! I researched several online stores yesterday, but it seems that alot of them add their own reviews/comments, to bump up their numbers. And, I've heard questionable things in the past about gray market cameras. I would love any suggestions anyone has...

Thanks! I'm dying to get this camera & try it out soon!! ;)
