Digital Scrappers - Post pages here!!!

I was going to say something about the embellishment thing earlier to Briar Rose but work called me away (don'tcha hate it when life gets in the way of scrapping?). I don't know if I'd term it "embellishment problems". I've only recently started adding more stuff to my layouts. I had previously favored a rather "clean" look myself. Now I'm in a "throw lots of stuff on it" phase. But I'm sure that'll pass and I'll move on to some other phase at some point. All of these layouts are great... each and every one of them and I enjoy viewing them all.

Here's the latest from me. The journaling reads When Joey was in kindergarden he was in Mrs. McCloud’s class. It was a K/1 class which meant he was in a class with other kids in kindergarden and first graders. Every year, Mrs. McCloud would stage a circus. They had lions and lion tamers and clowns and all kinds of other circus fun guys. Joey was a strong man. He didn’t tell me a lot about the show beforehand because he wanted it to be a surprise. I didn’t know why he needed pantyhose, for instance, but look at those strong arms!

Thanks for the advice. I usually go for a more simple LO but when I see some of the LO's here it makes me want to add more to my page. When I try it sometimes just looks as if I am throwing embellishments on the page with no rhyme or reason. I am studying all of the LO's you all have posted here to try to learn how to be an embellishment queen!

I love the pic of your son! Kids have such a sense of fun at that age!

Thanks!

Thought I'd give Britt's new kit a whirl.... This is from our Disneyland Grad Nite in 1993 :scared1: !

Papers and most elements from Britt-ish Design and GG Digital Design's Collab--- High School Never Ends Kit. A few elements are also from Britt's Hapiest Kit on Earth. Alpha by Britt -- Clearly a Square.

Yzerbear -- Love your newest L.O. I really like th colors and the cardboard multi frame.

Fun page Hypermommy -- cute little strongman :)

Beautiful LO Jessica -- Love the colors and all of the texture.

Caits -- Welcome back! Love the LO -- especially the blended castle -- sooo pretty.

Precious Wen -- I can see why that's a favorite pic. What a cutie pie. I love your word art too.

WOW! Apparently I haven't been to this thread for a while! I missed a lot! SO many great LOs. Christy - LOVE what you did with the new mega-kit!! So adorable.

Great job Christy! I'm going to play with this kit tonight.

I didn't know where to post this, so I thought I'd do it here, have you guys noticed the 'sparkle eye' action trend? Of course adding a little shine to eyes can be good but a little. If you go toolin' around the boards (haven't seen it a SM at all) it is WAY out of hand. People are way overdoing it and their kids are looking like little Stepford children. It's kinda creepy....

I don't know what's right or wrong when it comes to linking other people's LO's but you'll see it overdone all over the place at the digishoptalk forum. (I don't belong there, just read/look)
Here's what it's supposed to look like:

I've gotten caught up in creative editing myself but learned a little goes a long way. There are some amazing LO's over there but I think they all get caught up in trying to make their's more amazing then the last person. They seem like really nice people but really competitive which is why I don't join, I couldn't handle the rejection, lol.

I see what you mean. I'll have to go looking for some of the Stepford kids because now I'm curious :rotfl2:

Here is the only one I finished today. I was having too much playing with my new laptop. :)

This layout is of my oldest brother. Growing up he loved this bear. Its name was Batpooh, not quite sure why. If you look at the picture, his bear has a cape on.

Here's something I threw together today for Mom's Day. Now I have to go get a frame and get it in the mail. Thank goodness Mom will understand. I'll just have to tell her that the inspiration didn't hit until today :-)

Hi Everyone,

I've been gone for about a week and just got back. No, it wasn't to Disney World...that trip is in less than 3 weeks  ! I missed SO much while I was gone. All those freebies and the fun things going on for DS Day. I think I'm now caught up here after reading through about 12 pages and looking at all the neat layouts on the DIS challenge pages. They are AWESOME! There's no way that I can comment on each one, but I just wanted to let you all know what a great job you're doing. Now I need to get busy and work on some. Glad to be back!

Pam

Great layouts, Hypermommy! I always take pictures of the life boat drill too. My kids get so annoyed! They say "Mom, its the same orange jackets as last time. You don't need to take our picture again." Too bad! The page for your mom is sweet. I'm taking mine to lunch today at Texas Roadhouse. Steaks, a cactus blossom and a big ol' brownie. Yum!

Yzerbear, I love the way you pulled out Pooh's color. Your brother looks very excited to have him.

Christy, great use of Britt's new kit. You guys are babies! I graduated high school in the late 70's!

Well, my daughter graduated from high school before Christy did so I may have you all beat! However, I don't think I'll tell when I graduated!!! :lmao:

Have a Happy Mother's Day everyone!

Here are a couple of pages I have done. The one with my son took me awhile to do because I had to keep wiping tears from my eyes.

I got a couple more done around going out for Mother's Day. Had to take the MIL out but really just wanted to stay home and scrap :rotfl2: I'm actually quite proud of the Lumiere's one becuase I made just about everything on there. The "marble" frame turned out better than I thought it would. Of course, it's not something you could EVER put in a trad scrapbook, but it seems to work on here. At least that's my opinion.

Anyway... enough chatter. Here they are:
