I made this LO a few months ago, and probably shared it back then, but I just wanted to toot my own horn for a moment if you don't mind... as well as give Britt some kudos!

I entered a scrapping contest with my Water Fun LO, which uses all Britt's stuff (except for the bubble scatterz by DeDe Smith). I won first place, which got me some cash, gift certs and they even mailed me a bag and pen!

The contest site is: http://www.scrapnwin.com/ and the digital winners from last month are at: http://www.scrapnwin.com/winners.asp

Thanks Britt!

Toot away, Fran... this is cute! It reminds me of the time we stayed at Pop. I love the bubbles. :)

Congrats on your win!

Here is my first digital page ever. Took forever, but hopefully my pace will improve with time.

Great page Carol, love the arrangement and the titling. The pictures are wonderful, good eye.

I would suggest that you add shadows to your layered photos. It should make them pop a bit more. I sometimes just add a shadow to see what it does and remove if I don't like it. Alphas & fonts sometimes just look better without them.

Thanks, Janette... great suggestion. I guess I didn't even think about it since I used a template. Now I just need to figure out how to do that ... put a dropshadow on the "mat" layers I guess?

Thanks again for the feedback.

That is how in PSE; adding it to the mat layer will keep the framing border look of the pictures. I usually use the low shadow, there are other ways to do it but I haven't figured those out yet.

I couldn't remember how to get to the 'dropshadow' / 'low shadow' options, but I reviewed the tutorial that came with PSE7 to refresh my memory and see an example

I put shadows on the mats and title letters (oops, forgot to see if 'Indy' looks bad with a shadow)... how does this look now?

I will say one thing about digital... I like that I can decrease the opacity on a blurry photo, and it makes the blurriness less noticeable (in this case, the photo of my son driving the car, right above the title).
Thanks again for your help.
Carol

Looks really good Carol, makes your pictures much more defined and enhances the layering. I didn't notice the background photo was blurred, neat idea to make it a faded background.

Great job Carol, especially with the added shadows!

Holy crap, I never realized there was a sub forum below the Creative Community section. I've belonged to the DIS for over a year and never noticed it. :confused3

The Gallery is back up at Scrapmatters, still looks like there are a few issues but I was able to put up the pages i've done. I don't get much done and I had a backlog, I imagine it will be pretty busy the next couple of days. Only one Disney except for this weeks challenge, these are all from challenges at Scrapmatters.

Thanks, Wen!

Nice layouts, Janette... I especially like your Maharajah layout. :)

It looks awesome, Carol. :)
Janette-Great LOs, I especially love the AK one. :)
Krista-SO adorable!!

Here's a LO I did while SM was down this weekend, not sure what I think of it, lol.

Once again I've been enjoing all the LOS. There is definitely a lot of very talented people out there!

Here's one that I did for the Template Challenge at SM:

...ah... I can almost hear the water fall. Makes me wish I was there now.

QuiltyMom... I love all the colors! I like how you've clustered the photos.

Krista - I've already nabbed that kit! It's just beautiful. Now I gotta find some pics to use it with.
