Hi!! I had a few questions about digital photo frames if you have one or are planning on buying one.

...are they worth the money??

I'm doing the college program at disney in the spring and we dont have a lot of space so i thought instead of 10 pic frames I could use 1 digital frame.

..how do they work?? how do you get the pics on them??

...how much do they cost???

..any particular brand better than another???

..if you have to put the memory card in..how do i put pics from my computer onto the memory card??

thanks!

you are going to be too busy working and having the time of your life, to look at pictures...LOL

haha...yes ur right but u know mothers..they have to be seen everywhere!!!! my dad made the comment when i moved out last May that there were more pics of me w/friends than of him and my mom..so i thought this would be a simple/easy way lol

have you seen the size of the room you will be staying in, very small with 2 beds...take 1 small pic of mom& dad...

yep ive seen it, my roommate is working there now..theres room on the little night stand..the frame is only 7inches so thats not very big at all...i will make due i'm sure, thanks

I have looked at them some but they are still a little more than I am willing to spend at the moment. When they come down I am sure I will get a few over time.

I'm hoping for a deal on the on Black Friday for Christmas gifts. If I hear of any deals, I'll let you know. :)

No. They are not worth the money. I've bought two, and have disposed of both of them. The built-in software within them blows; the product needs a few more years to mature.

Now ask me how I *really* feel :rotfl2:

I have an insignia one that I got as a gift, and you can upload pics from your computer into the frame, or put your memory card in the frame and watch the pics on the card. I find I only bring it out when I'm having company, because when it is off, it's an empty frame, and I don't want to waste electricity and leave it on all the time. I uploaded pics of my nephew's football games and had it on when I had my family over to supper before a game, and for chrismas, I will upload pics from christmas's past and have it on. The picture quality is not the greatest, compared to the computer screen, but I have nothing else to compare it to.

Congrats on doing the college program at Disney. What an awesome opportunity. Good luck.

That made me curious enough to check their power consumption. For the ones I could find information, it looks like they consume about 10 to 15 watts while on. Given that there are 8,766 hours in a year, that works out to about 130 kilowatt hours on the high end for a year. At twelve cents a kwh, that would be $15.60 worth of electricity per year. If you invested in a timer switch and turned it off for 8hr per day, you could save $5.20/year.

Thanks Mark. That's not much at all. I thought it would have been more than that.

i think I might go ahead and get one for xmas. And hopefully I can get a good deal from Black Friday. I don't think they are as popular as the Ipods, computers, cameras, etc at Best Buy or other locations so hopefully I can get a good deal like Nikel said...

thanks all!!
