how do you guys take pics indoors at places like the HHN houses with your digital cameras?

I tried playing around with mine ( 4.0 megapixel camedia),taking interior shots of my house w/o flash,, & everything was blurryyyy due to the camera wanting to have a long apeture speed etc.. (Ok I don't know anything about cameras)..

soooooo what do you do? you certainly cannot stop & use a tripod???!!

I found I could use my 4.0 Olympus with out the flash on some of the better lit shows and at the fireworks display at Epcot. I took some pics at Bill and Teds without the flash and some came out pretty decent. A few were blurry becuase the camera decided to do a long exposure. But unless the camera has a night vision mode, you are just gonna have to have a good light source on the subject to get a decent picture without a flash. So taking pics with no flash in the haunted houses will be impossible.

Using a tri-pod would be a nightmare! Especially with the HHN crowds everybody would be walking all over you. But if you are taking pics of scareactors outside you shouldn't have a problem doing that with the flash. Just as long as you kept them with distance of the flash.

I've found u can add light when u edit the pic which can make it look a lot better:jester:

I take pretty much all of my night time pictures without a flash. I bought an external flash for my digital because the one that came with the camera is so lame. But then I started just using the tripod for all night shots and I have to say, they are quite good. I agree that a tripod at HHN would be difficult, but try using it for pics of scenes (like spaceship earth at Epcot, or the waterfront at PBH) late at night. You will be very surprised at what the camera can do. I override the automatic features, set the film speed at 100 (so the pics will be sharp), and leave the shutter open for up to a minute or longer. What I find the most spectacular thing is the sky at night appears to be black, but in a pic taken over a long exposure is the most beautiful blue.

One of these days I am going to make good use of the website that my ISP has given us and post them. Good luck and experiment!

Wow Muushka, you actually take a tripod? That would be great, at night with everything lit up the parks look incredible, I'd love to get some shots of them like that. Maybe the next time we drive down I'll consider taking some. By the end of a regular addmission night the crowds are usually a lot smaller and seting up a shot then wouldn't be too bad.

Muffyn, you could probably try a burst mode on your camera. That overrides the flash and takes 3-5 quick pics. If the subject has decent lighting one or two might come out fairly decent. NWO at IOACentral recomended it and I did try it myself and it can work at times.

Yes, we drag that old tripod occasionally into the parks. We go so often that sometimes we just like going to take pictures. Once the camera is hooked up to the tripod, it isn't that bad. And the pictures are so good, it is well worth the effort.
