Difficulty booking at 7 months

We are new to DVC-actually waitng for our contract to go to Disney for ROFR. We had one that passed, but didn't close (long story-see Who's passed ROFR thread).

How hard would it be to get a studio around the 1st full week of May or mid-September (after the kids go back to school, but before F&W starts) at the 7 month mark for at resort that is not your home resort? I'm just wondering because I would like to change things up and try the other DVC resorts.

Also, how about a studio and a 2 bedroom around the 3rd week of June (right after the kids get out of school) atthe 7 month mark? We're looking to do a big family trip a few years down the road and DIS-in law would love to stay at BWV, but our home resort is going to be SSR.

Changing at 7 months is usually not difficult unless you want one of the limited and highly sought choices - BW view at the BWV, OKW and BWV Grand Villa, dedicated two bedroom with two queen beds at BCV. There can be others at different times of the year, like VWL is often difficult to get because it is so small.

However, early May, mid June or mid Sept should not be hard.

May and September dates are among the easiest times to get into the smaller on site resorts at the 7 month mark.

BCV is probably the hardest resort to get into at seven months in May, but we were able to do so this year (4/29-5/5/2007) just a week or so over five months. So, it's doable.

BWV is much larger than BCV and should be much easier, as long as you're not expecting to get the "standard view" accommodations.

I think the 1st week of May and Mid September time frames are promissing. The 3rd week of June is going to be hard to get.

Well, these are the resorts I was thinking for the different months:

May-WLV and AKV. I know there's know why of knowing about AKV at this point, but I'm hoping to get a Savannah View or Concierge Level.

September-SSR (will be our home resort) and BWV/Boardwalk View.

The one in June will be a family trip and I just assume get the studio and 2 bedroom at SSR so I can book at 11 months and not worry. It's my DIS-in law who really wants to stay at BWV. Oh well, too bad for her. She's the one with kids that we'll have to wait until schools over to go. DH and I have no children so that's why we are fortunate enough to be able to go during the school year every other time.
