******* SURVEY POSTCARD WAS RECEIVED ON 6/28 ******
******* AFTER CHECKOUT OF 6/18, RESPONDED TO ******
******* SAME EVENING ******

We stayed at BCV for 10 nights from 6/8/ until 6/18. We had a few challenges getting a non-smoking studio non-handicapped room that had been requested. We also had some challenges with housekeeping on this trip. This is not the first time with housekeeping but it was even more "fun" on this trip. The odd thing is that we received no email or paper survey for the first time in 7 stays. Maybe the surveys really are random.

Sorry to hear that you had problems. Don't give up about getting the survey card, they sometimes take longer to get to you.

I used to always get surveys, but lately I haven't. I got one last month after our OKW stay, but it wasn't about the room or the resort, it had questions about early entry and which parks we went to on which days (memory test there, didn't use a plan this time).

I have ALWAYS gotten a survey postcard no matter if I was staying thru CRO, on points or rented points. This past trip was the first time in I don't know how long that I haven't received a survey card.

Don't wait for a survey card, send you feedback to member services satisfaction manager. That's their job.

Baileybrad: We also had BCV stay plagued with housekeeping issues the last week of May. I also did not receive a post card for this stay. Figures. I did have a discussion with Jackie Lueders regarding our BCV stay. I would suggest you do the same. She is a very nice lady.

As others have said, please report the "fun" you had with housekeeping to someone whether you get the survey or not. It's the only was the issue can really be addressed.

Hope all else was good with your trip?

As far as our stay went....as most of us DVCers realize, you can't let some inconveniences take away from a Disney vacation. And we did not.

One thing that we did do was participate in an ongoing survey during our stay that tracked our spending for 8 days of our stay. It was fairly painless and the kids got some really cute "character" ink pens as souvenoirs. We are also suppose to receive a $25 check in a few weeks.

I would love to receive a survey but I suppose that it will not happen.

The most interesting thing in our "fun" with housekeeping was (and I hate this because I do not have the individual in hk's name that said this to the cm at the front desk that I spoke with about one of our situations) that once a member has stayed over 8 days on points, a full cleaning is warranted and the member is charged $25 for the cleaning whether it was requested or not. Of course that was news to us and I am most likely sure to all other DVC members.

The charge was removed but it should have never appeared in the first place.

Our usual stays are for 7 nights, so I do not know if there is a charge if you stay longer. What other fun did you have with housekeeping problems? I am glad that you did not let this spoil your trip and that you still had a wonderful time.

The 4-day trash/towel and the 8-day cleaning are free. Talk to MS about this one. You caught the charge in time. But did some other family get soaked?

Some of the other "fun" was it took 3 calls to receive a high chair. The best was the call that I made on the 2nd request. Me: Could you please see if you could locate us a high chair? CM: Yes, we will be happy, too. Phone rings about 1/2 hour later someone from hk asking what was it that we had called to request ie. a high chair. This still did not result in a chair...that took one more call so that was probably 4 calls. The one we received was one that I think I sat in as a child (it was beyond gross) so it took one last call to get a usable one.

2 time hk came into the room despite a Do Not Disturb hanging on the door with our sleeping 16 month old in the room. One of the trips they turned off the fan that was left on for coolness and white noise.

The best was the rush that was put on a n/s room for us to move into after our 1st night in the s/o room. There was a rush put on 1 n/s studio. It only took them to 3:00 pm to have the room ready. I am so glad they were rushing.

But again nothing took away from our trip....we had a blast.

Maybe it is also time to go over to those weekly business meetings. If you go often enough they may get tired of the complaints and do something.

WOW! you said in your comments that this wasn't your first "fun" time with housekeeping.. is this a normal thing for DVC members to go through? I mean if it is happening more then just a few times, and you report it then it would seem that your comments are being placed in the trash instead of being passed to someone that can deal with it. A habit is hard to break and it sure does sound like housekeeping has a very bad habit!

I do not want to operate in generalizations....we did have a couple of issues with HK at BCV this past October BUT in all of our previous stays with the DVC 4 @ HH, 5 @ OKW, 1 @ VWL, 1 @ Vero and 1 @ Boardwalk....no problems of any kind.

I still believe that there is a disconnect between the front desk and housekeeping as far as the BCV goes. I DID receive a survey postcard yesterday evening and filled it our diligently. I have never written directly to the DVC other than once to praise an overly nice CM. I do wish that the there was a mechanism (it is clearly spelled out on the card that this will not be the case) in place when one fills out the survey that really good ie. special mention of castmembers were passed along and, equally so, poor service was addressed with an email or phone call if more details were required to understand the problem. I would like to believe that there are not that many bad responses to the surveys so it would not be a huge task to track things down but then again Disney has to run their program as they see fit. Frankly, with all the stuff going on in our lives, we just don't have the time or energy to repeat the whole thing over again when the survey could serve the same purpose.

I do feel, to a certain degree, when one stays at a multiple purpose combo resort such as WL/VWL and/or BC-YC/BCV that the DVC atomsphere is not quite the same as it is at Vero/HH/or OKW. That, at least, has been our experience. But in the end that is sort of like crying over spilled milk.

I would not say that "this is a normal thing" but things do go wrong....even at a Disney resort. The good has out-weighed the bad for us many times over but when something goes awry I will express it, in I hope, a fair way.

Email Member Services and share your concerns with them. Jackie is handling the problems right now until someone can be hired to take her place.

She will call you.
