Different Prices for Guests from Different Countries

We're Canadian and we get the same discounts the US customers get. It costs us almost $2,000 to fly, I stay for two weeks, can't bring much with me, and we have the added cost of the dollar which factors in an additional 15-20% on ALL spending.

In the past Disney has provided Canadian offers, but there has been nothing for the past five or so years. If we go to WDW, it's because we REALLY want to. Or we're REALLY dumb, clearly!

Now I suppose I have the option of driving 27 hours - no, thank you - but it always amazes me that Disney gives Canadians no love. I'm looking for a longer that 10 day ticket the Brits get, but, nope. I suspect it has something to do with charters or group sales. Or just a historical thing that they haven't given up... yet. They have been so shortsighted in recent years, nothing they do surprises me anymore.

Last year there was free dining for Canadians from August to December. That would make me sooo happy!

That was for Canadians only? We don't do free dining, so not much incentive here, but nice to see them at least throwing us a bone!

Do places in Australia or Europe offer discounts and deals to Americans?

I know back in my college days InterRail passes were exclusive for Americans. Was a great deal, but no European students could use them. They had their own version, i belive ours was cheaper.

Also for most American hotels/resorts to market to Europeans for touris travel ( not business) you have to include breakfast. In Europe almost all Tourist hotesl/resorts the rate is Room and Breakfast or half-board.

This is why the QS at a minimum is included so Disney can market these deals as either half-board or DP ( all-inclklusive). Most Europeans wouldnt even look at a hotel that did not include breakfast.


Most family vacation packages for Europeans are market too as all-inklusive ( but that can mean alot.--ex at Disney no free alcoholic drinks )

@mousefan73 exactly. Europeans and Americans vacation differently, and have different expectations, so Disney have different deals and offers for each customer profile.

For example all the onsite hotels in Disneyland Paris, from the most exclusive suites at Disneyland Hotel to the family friendly budget motel style Santa Fe have breakfast included as standard

The UK disney deals get us Brits staying onsite and spending onsite.

Bus from airport, no need to drive on the wrong side of the road and the fact that free dining is very similar to 'all inclusive' holidays which are popular with uk families eg to spain/egypt.

Our free dining deal includes a 30% ish discount (used to be 40%) at OKW and SSR. Apparently designed to get Brits who would prefer to stay in a villa or condo onsite due to the 1/2 bed options. Also fills up spots at less popular resorts.

We also fill rooms at time that are traditionally lower attendance. Disney advertise that the deal is valid in the school holidays which is a big seller in the UK. Last 2 weeks August and October half term are uk school holidays and would ordinarily be peak pricing for uk/european holidays but are actually cheaper times at disney.

Disney also gets our money/commitment way in advance which must help with planning on disney's end, people are eager to book as soon as the offer is released. My October 2016 holiday at AKL with free ddp was booked April 2015. They offer the giftcard as an incentive to book asap, I got $200, if I had booked few months later $100 then few months later (but still 12 months out) nothing.

Yes UK had an offer at values that was marketed as free breakfast (was actually 1 QS credit usable anytime) but it was popular as bed and breakfast would be the norm for us with a hotel stay.
