What is the difference? :confused3 You know how you get a question in your head and just keep wondering? ;)

Diet Coke tastes much better, IMO. They each have different sweetners. Diet Coke is sweetened with Aspartame (nutrasweet). Coke Zero is sweetened with a blend of aspartame and acesulfame potassium. Coca-Cola's position is that the Coke Zero is supposed to taste more like the original Coke, but without calories or sugar, but they are WRONG. Blech!

Coke Zero's flavor is based on Coca Cola Classic. Diet Coke's flavor is based on the infamous "New Coke" that didn't last very long.

I've never been able to stand any of the Diet Coke products, but I'm addicted to Coke Zero, so I researched the why's of that.

Well, I hated New Coke (tasted like Pepsi:sick:),and I hate Coke Zero. I love Diet Coke. The tastes are very different.

Coke zero tastes like Coke. Diet Coke doesn't.
Coke Zero is vile.
Diet Coke is not.

I could be wrong but I think that Diet Coke has caffeine and Coke Zero does not.

Coke Zero does have caffeine- Caffeine-free Coke and Diet Caffeine-free Coke do not. The "Zero" refers to calories, although in several other countries, as advertised, it refers to sugar.

I have been drinking diet soda for 30 years. The only diet soda I can not stand is Diet Coke. I was reluctant to even try Coke zero...but I'm so glad that I did. I really like it.

Coke zero has a taste that is similar to the original Tab...

Difference is taste. Coke Zero really does taste like coke classic. I don't like diet coke.

What is funny is that I love Pepsi- Coke not so much. But diet Pepsi- no! Diet Coke- yes! Coke Zero was on sale and I finally tried it and really like it. Thanks for pointing out the difference between them- when I tried a search on them I couldn't get the comparison but did read that Coke wanted to promote it towards young men thinking by omitting the word "diet" it would sell better.

If you want to go to heaven & back, try Cherry Coke Zero. It is devine to say the least.

Boy you are right about that, I can't stand regular coke because I have been drinking diet for about 30 years. When I tried Coke Zero I thought I was going to hurl. Tastes way too much like regular coke.

Coke Zero is nasty. I don't like regular Coke, either so that would explain why. I can tell right away when I'm given regular instead of diet by mistake. I actually prefer diet Pepsi, but will buy diet Coke if it's cheaper.

One year I teamed with another teacher and we did a school Pepsi Challenge as part of a media literacy unit we were teaching. We did blind taste tests during recesses with Coke, Pepsi, and RC Cola. Surprisingly, RC Cola won, but none of the kids chose that as their favorite brand prior to the taste test.

I was told the Diet Coke is seen as a drink for women. Coke Zero was made to target males.

I disagree...I love coke zero because it does taste like real coke to me and much better than diet coke...same thing with cherry coke zero and diet cherry coke. :lmao: How funny we all have different tastes!
