I am sort of a newbie... this is my second Disney cruise...Saw some posts re: fish extenders... thinking about making one this weekend for the April 17th cruise. Not sure how it works...any insight would be greatly appreciated.BTW... also new to Forums...:woohoo::cool1:

Welcome!!

Unfortunately, our FE list is closed. We have quite a large group and closed off the list about a month ago. I know most people are done or almost done getting their gifts together. I apologize.

We have a great group here and have several "meets" at the port and on the ship, would love for you to join us.

Well my DH won out in the mixology vs. DH debate. I told Helen that I will have to pass on this one. I am not much of a drinker but very social. I wanted to hang out with all of you. But I know there will be plenty of time on the ship for that. One reason I really like the size of the Wonder is because you almost get to know most of the passengers. I always see the same people around the ship. It almost feels small and intimate. So I know I will run into a lot of you. Also we have the handy dandy wrist bands and lanyards to help spot our fellow DIS'ers.

So what is everyone's plans for embarkation day? I will be at the port early (come by and see me:yay:), then when we board I will be heading to Guest Services to grab tickets for the Wendy & Friends tea for myself, Isabelle & Danny, and for Gabriela and family. Then I would like to eat in Parrot Cay. I like the tableside drink service. After that we are planning on hitting the Mickey pool. Hope to be able to stop by the room to freshen up and unpack for a bit before our meet at 3pm. Might have to park DH at the pool with the kids as I go to the room.

I am so excited that our cruise is 10 nights. I feel we will really be able to relax and enjoy and not so much rushing around trying to fit everything in. That seems to be my every day norm, rushing around.

What, where and when is the Wendy and Friends Tea? How have I not heard of this before? Yikes! One more thing to plan!

Susan,

This used to be called the Alice & Friends tea I believe. It is a free "tea"/show for kids. Now Wendy, Peter Pan, and some Princesses teach the kids on proper tea etiquette. The kids get served apple juice and cookies. They do it just once, on a sea day, maybe twice for our cruise? ?? You need tickets, you get them at Guest Services. It is cute and good character interaction. They do this in Studio Sea and the tickets are limited. The kids can line up and take pictures with the characters after. My daughter is not a big princess fan, but she loves Peter Pan. A lot of the little girls dress up in their princess dresses for this.

we are so close!! I leave in 7 days! I am all packed and now of course I am coming down with an URI....ugh....I hope it blows through pretty quickly - I hate flying when I feel icky.

Looking forward to meeting and seeing everyone...I may not be around for a few days, so please - keep the number of pages to under 100?!?

:welcome:

The FE list is already closed but you can still join in on some of the fun. Here's a link to the website created by Travelbee. It has the information on our DisMeets. If your interested in a lanyard for you and those in your group just post everyone's first names and I'll add you to the list.

Sorry you won't be joining us but do stop by on your way to brunch to check in on us. :goodvibes

Well I celebrated my birthday today and I had a great day. I feel like I'm kick starting the vacation early, except for the fact that I haven't packed, haven't finished my FE's, the lanyards, still have tons of work stuff to finish...oh well I guess I'm really not ready yet. The next 10 days will be crazy :upsidedow but well worth it. :yay:

:bday:helen!have a great day!!!
we are all set, well i need a litte womens prep.(,manicure, pedicure, wax, wrap with moisturazing, etc),i just a take a day to go to a spa,and ask for them to put me presentable:laughing:.
we are having a very good weather in portugal(mid 80´s),i think is a perfect kick of for vacation,i just can´t wait to be in mexico:cool2:

Happy birthday Helen! I'm continuing to get ready for the trip. Last night I discovered these adorable Minnie/Mickey cruise Birkis for the girls:

The Clogs

and

The Sandals

so I totally splurged and got them some and had them 2-day shipped so I'm sure they will arrive on time!

And I booked my book at the Doubletree finally. They are really filling up--only king rooms were available through the reservations dept., although when I called they were able to switch me to two queens. Our flight doesn't get in till Sat night, so I think we may miss the meetup though.

Gabriela, I'm with you on the spa day. I'm in dire need of a pedi for sure.

Sounds like it was a good birthday! Sean and I are taking off to Vegas today, but if you still need help with the lanyards or FEs, I can help next Friday or Saturday. Let me know.

:bday: Happy birthday, Helen! I'm totally with you about being far from packed and ready to go; I'm going to try to bag up all my FEs today, and pack this weekend. It's really getting so close now! :hourglass

Questions for you (and Connie): is there some way for us to find out about any cabin changes that take place at port for our Secret Mickeys? And sorry to be a dunce, but I don't understand the SM reveal; can you explain how that will work? Thanks!

So hope your better in a few days...so miserable to fly with a URI! With this drastic weather change, I am prayin' Karen and I don't get sick either.

So what is everyone's plans for embarkation day?

We are staying at the Long Beach Hilton (anyone else happen to be staying there???). Our Hotel package includes breakfast so, we will probably have breakfast in the morning then check out by noon to head of to San Pedro. Maybe make a last minute dash to the grocery store for libations and such. Our check in time is at 1:30pm, so I hope to get on board and drop everything into our room.

Then get some late lunch and head to the Meet & Greet at 3pm. Can't wait to meet everyone. I've been in vacation mode all this week. Tons of work to do at work plus stuff at home....but haven't been able to get much done. Next week is crunch time for me as I finish off my remaining projects at work and hand over my systems that I work on to a coworker. I think EVERYONE (at work, at church, friends, family...etc) knows we are going on what my kids affectionately call the Mickey and Minnie boat. (Yes...my son calls it the Mickey boat and my daughter not to be out done calls it the Minnie boat).

Well I celebrated my birthday today and I had a great day.

A little late but here goes (clearing my throat)......Happy Birthday to you....Happy Birthday to you...Happy Birthday dear Helen....... Happy Birthday to you...cha cha cha :)

Virdis, my daughter lives across the street from L.B. Hilton, on Ocean. If you are driving in, you might want to check out The Wine Garden on Redondo Ave. They have a huge selection and great prices.
:bday:Happy Birthday to Sandy, Danny, JoJo and Helen. Helen, let me know if you need any help with getting lanyards done. :wave2:
The big countdown is on! :hourglass
