Diez (10) Noches Calientes en la Riviera Mexicana/17 de abril 2011 (4.17.11 Wonder!)

Well the good news is that there will be many sailings to the MR before ours. So, by then we'll have a better idea of what's going on based upon what people say when they return! Like I said, give me a cruise to nowhere for a week and I'm in heaven, lol!
I agree...CRUISE TO NOWHERE!;)

I'm wondering if we also should stick with DCL excursions in Mazatlan...guess we have time though to see. Sounds like it will only get worse?:confused3

I don't believe that Disney excursions are going to be any safer then others. Disney contracts with a vendor, and often a rep from Disney does not even go on the excursion. There is usually a mix of both people who booked the excursion on their own and through the ship.

I am not too worried about traveling in Mexico, and doing excursions on our own. Even with our 3 young children. We just need to be aware of our surroundings and make informed safe decisions. We will stay in well populated tourist areas, not venture outside of town on our own, and not carry loads of cash or jewelry on us.

My DH and I lived in Manhattan in 1999/2000, I had no problem taking the subway and walking around the city in the wee hours of the morning on my own. I was always on alert and aware of what was going on around me.

It's funny, crossing the boarder on foot and going into Tijuana to party for a night used to be so popular. I even went with a college class of mine with our professor. Now I guess that would not be such a good decision. In High School my choir and band spent our spring break traveling Mexico on a bus. We flew into Mexico City and drove all over performing. Sad to think those days are gone. We were lucky to visit the pyramids, the Shroud of Tourin was on display in a Cathedral, visit orphanages, and many small villages.

I am excited to visit the ports and see how they have changed in the past 21 years, the last time I was on a MR cruise.

Yeah, I agree with you...DLC excursions won't be any safer than non DLC excursions. When I think about it, if something bad is going to happen it could be anywhere. And I hear you about NYC, I grew up in NY State and have been to the city many times and have never REALLY felt unsafe. For me I think I get an uneasy feeling because we will be traveling to an unfamiliar country (for me anyway) but I am sure we all will have a blast.

Congrats on winning! I love H2O products, especially the body butter. Every time I put it on I get a nice flashback to our cruise. :cloud9: I've been entering the contest every day but so far no prize for me. I'm hoping all my luck is getting saved up so I win the cruise! :goodvibes

:woohoo: :woohoo: Congrats!!! party:

I've been playing and haven't won anything YET...

Have a great week everyone!!

Kristi and ShellBelle, thanks for your informed opinions. I agree that the excursions will be safe regardless of who they are booked through. Just make wise decisions on where and what you are planning. I would hate to miss out on a great experience and stay on the ship. AND, we'll all be together!! So excited!

Just checking the availablity of the ship and see they are offering 11C, 11B & 11A's again. I just wonder if it's because of the 2012 dates opening.:confused3

I have a feeling yes...I checked on the day the rates were released and there were cabins available in almost all categories. We're in a Cat 10 and a 9 was only $300 more (total) but when I booked our sailing in June it was substantially more. I didn't switch though...the 9 was GTY. I'm nervous about that (even though we've never been in a 10...I'd rather stick with the 10 and know where the cabin is). It's interesting to see the effect the rate release had.

Here's some pixie dust for you both pixiedust: I've never won anything so needless to say I was thrilled!

I've looked into Randi's too and if we go, Colin will get his own horse/pony. The first time Allison's been on a horse by herself was on a ranch in Hawaii and she loved it, but I think she was 5 and a half. If you guys are up for Randi's, we're in too.

Sorry haven't been on the boards in a few weeks. Horseback riding sounds good. Colin will be about 2 1/2 months shy of his 4th birthday so I'm hoping he will do well. He's much more adventurous than Aiden so I think he'll be good. Let's go ahead and do it - assuming you guys are still up for it. If it's better to stay on the ship on that port than I'm fine skipping out.

When you play the game everyday, does it sometimes tell you you've already played for the day? Hmmm, I've gotten this message a few times.

Did you start seeing this after you won? If so yes, I do get that every time. It's because you can only instant win once but you want to keep playing to get your daily entry in for the cruises (you know, one of those has my name on it, lol)! :rotfl2:

It also looks as though you can no longer get the Kids Sail Free discount, which is savings us a little.
