Diez (10) Noches Calientes en la Riviera Mexicana/17 de abril 2011 (4.17.11 Wonder!)

From what I saw it wasn't very exciting news. They didn't release anything much on the Magic/Wonder (I think whatever they released went through April 2012 and it was nothing new). The Fantasy itins were released through 2012 and it looks like it's all Eastern/Western Caribbean sailings.

DH left Kabul last night, should be in Dubai now, and will be home by tomorrow (Tuesday) afternoon. YIPPEE:banana:

:grouphug: So So SO happy for you guys!! :woohoo: :woohoo: Take lots of pics when your DD sees him. Does he get to fly straight to Cali? I know when DBIL came home he usually had to stop at a base somewhere first which drove DSister nutz. :crazy2: Hope you can sleep tonight. I have to go blow my nose now!

He's a couple of hours north of Kabul, and he has spent the past few days there. Then to Dubai, and to Dulles (although there may be a stop in between) then to Long Beach Airport, which is 5 minutes from home! Yikes! I have to clean house!

I'm SOOOOO happy for you. The first time my husband came home from Afghanistan I had to drive from Clovis to Pendelton to pick him up. But I did get to drive his new truck. And I hate to drive. Have lots and lots of fun.

How wonderful...I'm sure you're all enjoying your reunion now!! Thank your husband for his service to our country. It is much appreciated! :)

I was disappointed too. I'm anxious to see what they release for the Magic and Wonder. I'm hoping for Hawaii...which could make sense now that they have a DVC resort there (or opening I should say). :confused3

LA to Hawaii would be wonderful!! I don't think they would do the circle though. Probably LA to Ensenada to Hawaii and hit a couple of islands about 8-10 days. LOVE the days at sea. :worship:

Gabriela - you go for it...you are so right. We usually need a vacation after our vacations. :goodvibes

Yes, the Fantasy itineraries are eastern and western. There hasn't been a ship on the east coast to do these cruises during the summers since the magic has been doing the med. I actually booked today on the Fantasy to do an eastern since the last cruise we took was interrupted by a hurricane. Excited to try one of the new ships though. Wish it was a 10 day!!!

Very bad newpaper article in our paper today about the violence in Acapulco. Really makes you wonder what they will do about it before we get there.

Good thing were not goin' to Acapulco. Worse comes to worse, we won't get off the ship and pretend it's another sea day. :goodvibes

No we are not going there but do you realize how much closer to our ports it from where the violence was. It is kind scary.

That's what I figured, it would be one way but I'm game! YES! The sea days would be fab. I say all the time, put me on a week long Disney cruise to nowhere, I'd love it. That's one of the things I loved about our Panamal Canal cruise...all the sea days. It didn't bother me one bit! There's so much to do, or not to! Eating is a great activity, lol!

Such a shame! I've heard about the recent probs in Aca. Aca was our favorite stop on our 2008 PC cruise. We rented a van from "Hector the Protector" with 2 other families (Dis friends :lovestruc). He took us everywhere, where tourists don't go. One of the stops was a lovely beach where we drank some local beer and ate the best tacos and really there were only a few people on the beach! He was so gracious to us and it really was an awesome day.

As for our ports...I just had lunch with a friend who's from Mazatlan. He still has family there and he said things are not good there for tourists. He recommended we either stay with Disney excursions or stay on the ship. :scared1: He said PV is having some problems but not as bad and Cabo is fine so far. He said the big issue is they're kidnapping tourists and wealthy locals and holding them for ransom. He explained more but it wasn't pleasant and it's not necessary to be negative. We're going either way, just thinking we'll enjoy the ship that day. It's really sad...the beaches in Mexico are beautiful!!

I'm wondering if we also should stick with DCL excursions in Mazatlan...guess we have time though to see. Sounds like it will only get worse?:confused3

Well the good news is that there will be many sailings to the MR before ours. So, by then we'll have a better idea of what's going on based upon what people say when they return! Like I said, give me a cruise to nowhere for a week and I'm in heaven, lol!

Unfortunately, the first sailing to MR would be AFTER our final payment is due. Like you said, if it gets really bad I'll just stay on the ship!
