Diez (10) Noches Calientes en la Riviera Mexicana/17 de abril 2011 (4.17.11 Wonder!)

OK...I just talked to Mike at Pirates of the Bay (PV) about the excursion. They have 2 full size pirate ships that can hold 250 people each. :thumbsup2 Say we should book early because weekdays in April are very busy (probably trying to sell me) If we have a group of 12 or more we can get a 20% discount $68 adults (12+)/$34 children (3-11). It would have to be paid by one person. He did say the website give the 15% $72.50 adult/$37 children if we book separate. I did tell him we are on the Disney ship a few times and he never said anything about having to book thru them and I also mentioned that we heard there were going to be 2 other ships there too. The location is 100 yrd from the ships dock. So we are within walking distance. :thumbsup2 I now just thought..I should have asked him if we could be bumped if the cruise want both ships. There policies say they never overbook. I will have to ask him when he e-mails me. Any more questions for them, let me know.

What is your opinion??? Should we book separate, get a couple of groups of 12 - 15 or do you just want to book through DCL?
Thanks for looking into this! We are going to book, but have decided to book through Disney. I'm sure it's just me but I think I feel more comfortable booking through DCL. Traveling with a 2 and 4 year worries me and I know with Disney they will make sure we make the ship. If it were just dh and I don't think I would be so worried.
Sounds like a fun excursion!

Thanks for the info. and your follow-up! That's great that they are offering an additional discount. We are really interested in doing this excursion but haven't finalized the decision yet so I will let you know.

Thanks for the welcome everyone! I just got back from San Diego and wasn't able to read everyone's posts until now. Someone asked where in So Cal I grew up. I was raised in Newport Beach. My parents still live there and I visit every chance I get.

I certainly looks like there will be a lot of girls on this trip! Excited for the cruise. We are also going to be at Disneyland on Nov 1 and 2 this year celebrating our daughters birthdays!

Let us know when you will be at Disneyland and we can meet up with you there.

Hi Devon - It was me who asked! I grew up in Irvine and went to University High School and then UC Irvine. I lived in Newport for quite a while, in the Harbor View area. It's a beautiful town and I have many fond memories (Roger's Gardens at Christmas in particular)!

There seems to be a lot of girls in your daughters age range on this cruise.
Looking at the current ROLL CALL there really IS a lot of girls between 5-8 here. Great! They'll be lots of Princesses running around.princess:

Now, after seeing the different options for Palo's, I'm torn between brunch and dinner. Who's done both, and what's your preference?

I know lots of girls. JoJo will have a great time no matter how many girls or boys. :thumbsup2

Don't be torn...do both!! We're going to try both. Or are you only wanting to try one? I figure there's time and all the reviews rave about both, ok I have read a few bad one. Mostly because they are picky eaters. I'm semi-picky but after reading the menu's, I know there is plenty for me. :cutie:

Guess I need to take elastic pants and moo-moos.:thumbsup2

We have done both as well and while they are both good and have great service. I love the cheese station at the Brunch. If I could only do one, I would choose Dinner. I love they way they pamper you at dinner and I love just relaxing during the dinner and the attentiveness of the server. We always try to get a seating before sunset so we are able to watch the daylight sink away.

Since we are on a 10 day cruise, I am going to try for at least 1 of each.

:rotfl: I just started going to the Gym again to get back in shape so I am ready for the cruise.

I hear ya. Just started running again because I KNOW i'm going to be having way too many drinks and way too much good food. Still have a ways until we leave but better to start now!

DCL announced Kids Sail Free to the Caribbean 7 Night Cruise. Wow! Wish DH would be home then. We'd love it!! Anyone doing this one?

I saw this too and tried to talk DH into taking me and DD for my 40th in January. But with this cruise, a week in Kauai and a couple of ski trips, all of our vacation time for next year is spoken for. What a bummer. We are also out of vacation time for the rest of this year because of the mediterranean cruise back in May... serious vacation withdrawal going on!

Which sailings/months is the Kid's Free promo for? I guess it would work best for East Coasters right? Since we would have to add flights.

It is for certain Bahamas and Caribbean sailings in January through March 5th. Wish we could go, but will be all maxed out for cruises as we are going on the Halloween Magic and then our South of the Border one in April!

My thoughts, too. Sounds like a great deal (look at the prices, WOW) but then you have to add in air fare and hotel and it starts adding up. Plus, DD will be missing a week of school for the MR trip.

Has anyone checked the pricing for our cruise? My friends, family of four, were checking into joining us on this cruise and not only is the kids free promo no longer available, but the only stateroom that showed up was a 1 bedroom suite for $11,600!:scared1: Out of curiosity, I checked for my little family of 3 and the kids promo still works AND there's stateroom available from Cat 9 to Cat 4. Does anyone know why?
