Dieting for Disney?

Thanks guys! Wonderful support and advice as always. I will keep at it. :Pinkbounc And to all those of you who have met your weight loss goals or almost have, you are my inspiration. Congrats and thanks again! :)

13 days of eating!!! I was afraid to weigh myself..I gained 1 pound!! :cool1: :earsgirl: Could you believe that? If I ate a big breakfast I had something small at lunch. Drink alot of water. It was kinda hot when I was there so it made it easy. You will do alot of walking so you might even lose a couple of pounds. Have a great time.

Great advice from everyone! Not sure anyone said this yet but one of the biggest tools that has helped me is the WISH board here on the DIS!! It is jam packed with great people going through similar weight struggles. I highly encourage you to check it out, it is on the main discussion board page, down near the community board.

Best of luck!

Drink a lot of water.
Don't eat after 6.
Don't eat anything with sugar in it. Also, don't eat white bread, potatoes or regular pasta.
That's what worked for me.

the only thing here that might work, is the don't eat after 6 rule....
while the no sugar, white bread, potatoes is a good idea, there are so many other things that you can pork up on, just doing this isn't going to do it for you...

be careful about drinking too much water.....a woman who works with me, who has had a lifelong weight problem decided that she wasn't drinking enough...she drank so much water that she threw her body out of balance and was in the hospital for 3 weeks as they tried to get her back into balance...the first week was in intensive care when she almost died...
so be careful.....if you're going on a crazy crash diet, do it under medical supervision..

The basics can be found here - I've been following 'rules' 1-3 since Tuesday, but have been a bit haphazard with 'rules' 4 and 5 (still working on getting the proportions right). See my tickers below :goodvibes

I'm right there with you!! When I made our reservations months ago I was determined to lose some weight. What happened? I ended up GAINING 15 pounds!!

My DH and I just went and joined a gym a few days ago. One of things you get when you join is a fitness assessment that includes a calculation of what your body age is based upon your weight, % body fat, and various fitness levels. Well I am 33 years old and my body age came back as 46!!! So the Disney trip didn't seem to motivate me the way I thought it would but finding out that I have the body of a 46 year old when I am only 33 definately got my behind in gear!!

Now my focus is on getting healthy, not just losing weight. For some reason, that has kept me highly motivated the last few days. Maybe that would work for you too. Instead of trying to lose weight before your trip, focus on ways you get get healthier - exercise a little every day, eat more fruits and vegatables, cut back on sugary snacks, etc. The outcome will be that you WILL lose weight, but you won't have to be so focused on the scale. Good luck!
