Dieting for Disney

Today is a GREAT!!!!
I reached my final Goal:dance3:
I got to 125 and I leave for Disney tomorrow! This time tomorrow I'll be sitting
at the Boardwalk sipping cocktails and getting ready for my friend's wedding!

Hey everyone! I tried to post yesterday but for some reason, I got bumped and it didn't save my post. Afterwards, I wasn't able to get back on the site so I really have no idea what happen.

I want to thank all of you for all of the birthday wishes. Another one has come and gone. Otherwise, I was able to go back to the gym last night and get in a pretty good arm workout. I couldn't go tonight as the volunteer program that I am involved in had our Annual Awards banquet tonight but I will be back in there tomorrow night.

Hope all of you are doing well. Keep your energy levels high so we can reach for the sky.
 
Well, as sad as I am to say this, it seems like our thread may be coming to an end. If it is time to say good-bye to our group, I have to say that all of you have become closer to me than most anybody that I see on a regular basis. We have shared a lot of time, trials, sadness and joy together. We have all come a long way. There are several members here that have lost 50+ pounds on their journey to a healthy lifestyle. As a group, we have all lost an amazing amount of weight. I am soproud of all of you for your dedication and your accomplishments. May you stay energized and motivated in your quest.


My update is that I may be coming to a point that may make it where I have to quit my gym membership. If this does happen, I am going to find some piece of exercise equipment for the house so I can stay in shape. Otherwise, I finally got a check in the mail yesterday to cover the difference or my old car and what they had appraised it for. I am still waiting on the loss of wages, medical bills and whatever else they are going to give me. I am going to start putting the money to good use as I am going to pay off some bills, pay off my vacation and just try to get ahead a little bit.

If anyone else does have any news to share, I always look forward to reading and or hearing from you. We all go through tough and hard times. It seems like we all go through that time where we ask ourselves if it is worth all of the pain and effort. The answer is YES! It is! I hope all of you are healthy and happy.

Thanks for bumping the thread another time Bubba. I hope everyone is doing well. I wonder if we could set up a challenge to motivate people to check in? You've all been such an invaluable support to me. Selfishly, I don't want to lose this thread!

I am BACK!!!! I just booked free dining this morning so I have even more motivation to reach my goals this summer. I'm not looking to lose weight (although 10-15lbs would be nice) so much as I'm wanting to shape and firm my body. I'm about to go do pilates for that reason!

Who's with me? I'd love to get some of the "dieting for disney" energy back. ROLL CALL!! :cheer2: :cheer2:

I've been MIA, I locked myself out of my account and finally got around to fixing the problem. :)

I've got to get back on the band wagon, I haven't gained or lost anything other than the same 3-4 pounds I've been dealing with since Christmas. I need to kick myself in the butt and get moving again...

Been busies than a one armed wall paper hanger here these days. I just finished up getting items ready for a huge consignment sale, nothing like going through your child's baby clothes to make you misty. :) I can't believe she's going to be three in a few weeks, how did that happen?

I'll post more in a little while today. I'm trying to plan our Sept. and Dec. Disney vacations, I was waiting for free dining to happen, so I'm trying to coordinate that with my husband and I'll book tomorrow morning, first thing. (yea! Payday!)

My girls are back!!! I have missed you so much around here. When are you all going for the free dining? It would be great if we were going at the same time so we could actually meet some of our members here. I will be there the week of September 3rd. Please come back and post when you are going.

Speaking of our trip, I got a call from my AAA agent today and she informed me that I was getting a refund for my purchase of the dining plan. I knew the special was supposed to be coming out today but no one was really for sure. But for her to give me a call and take care of it for me without me having to call and bug her about it really says a lot to me. I was happy.

As far as working out, I have all but quit the gym. Life and work was making it where I could never get to the gym. But I can't stop working out. It has been to much a part of my life so I went out and bought myself a Total Gym. This is a neat little machine. I think it will be great for toning up the body. I don't think it will be very useful for building a lot of muscle but since I am getting ready for a trip, I am trying to do more toning anyway.

Come on everyone! We have had a wonderful run here of support and energy. Together we can achieve all of our goals. It has been mentioned that we may need a challange to get people back into the groove so here is the first one. Here on WISH, there is another thread that is started everyday that is the exercise thread. Well, I have done 30 minutes worth of exercising today. Who's next?

I let my DH take the small person to bed tonight, there was less screaming than I expected, she's a mama's girl. :love: I never expected her to be but I'm really glad that she is, I'm selfish like that. :rotfl2:

Bubba, I'm sorry I missed your birthday! I hope you had a good time.

We're going down the end of the month of Sept. DH's got some monster project going on the beginning of the month. We're going for a short trip in Sept. the 20th through the 23rd, just enough time for MNSSHP and a taste for our longer trip in December. We're going to buy annual passes this year so we can get three trips out of them.

I didn't eat so great today but tomorrow is a new day. I've been home all day. I haven't seen the inside of the gym in awhile but now with two trips in the works I'll be in there more and more since I'll be bare bonesing the budget to save as much as I can for the trip. I guess I should be excited about getting rid of a few things in consignment sales and ebay the next few months, I'll be putting all that toward vacations. I can't wait to get moving on these.

I have to get up early tomorrow to get calling Disney first thing before the small person wakes up, her new thing is she wants to talk to everyone on the phone. :rotfl: Not always what the person on the other end of the phone wants.

I'll keep checking in. One of these days, we'll all be at Disney at the same time.

I have really missed you all! It's good to be back!:love:
 
Oh Bubba, I'm going to just miss you in September! :guilty: We're not arriving until the 16th. :( What resort are you staying at? We wanted POP, but due to no availability, we're now staying at All Star Sports. Leave me a note or something in a secret spot! :rotfl:

Bubba - how do you like the Total Gym? I must say that I actually prefer exercising from home (treadmill, weights and many dvd's/tapes). If I had to go to the gym to exercise, I may never go! :rolleyes: Do you have free weights? Dh is thinking of investing in some heavier weights so he can work out with me at the same time. I hope you enjoy working out at home.

o2bacelt - With two trips in the works, you've got some wonderful motivation! I may join you on selling on Ebay. Were you able to get through to Disney this morning?

Well, I just finished doing 50min. of pilates today. I'm thrilled to say that I'm noticing that I'm able to do each move better. I've still got a long way to go, but I can see progress and that's rewarding. Maybe one day I'll actually SEE my abs working. :p The instructor always tells us to look down and see the abs contracting...... Umm....I can't see a darn thing yet! :rolleyes1, but I can sure FEEL it! How's everyone else doing in the exercising of the day?

I'm having a rough day, I'm a VA Tech alum, I was so saddened to see the television reports today. Since I'm in Northern VA it was on the news all day, NoVa supplies 25% of the student population at Tech.

It's just sad to see such a wonderful and beautiful place blackened by such a horrifying event.

Delaney and I have been home all day today. I'm trying to keep busy with little projects today. I'm working on my consignment sale box so that I've got a head start for the next sale in July. I'll probably start working on the next sale the end of may to the beginning of june, I was so behind this last sale I only got a fraction of what I wanted to get done.

I'll check back in tomorrow, it's almost time to get Delaney off to bed, she's up late because we're watching the Disney Very Merry Christmas parade on the tivo. :) Trying to get excited about this coming trip.
 
Hey everyone! I am sorry I haven't been around for a few days. I went out of town to see my DW. She is in training for a new job making more money than she ever has before. We are really excited about the opportunity and the potential that this is going to give us. Anyway, we went down to her hotel to spend the weekend with her but she had to work this weekend. That means Dad had to come up with somthing to keep the kids entertained. So we took a trip down to the Coast, Mobile to be exact, to go to see the USS Alabama battleship. They had a really good time and I think it was a great opportunity to teach them some history. Plus, their Great Grandfather was in the Navy and on a battleship a lot like this one so there was a little more to it.

O2bacelt - We are all here grieving with you. It is an awful event and undertaking that has no understandable meaning behind it. So many young people with their whole life ahead of them. :confused3 It just doesn't make sense. There are no words that can make us feel better or understand this unwarranted brutality. I just pray for the families and friends of everyone involved. Be strong.

CJK - You asked me how I like my Total Gym. It's pretty nice. I feel like I can get a good toning workout on it but I don't feel like I can really build muscle. If I had the room and the money, I would have bought a BioForce machine. Just by going by what I have seen on TV, this is one of the best home gyms out there. I would take it over a BowFlex in a moment but that's me. But the machine that I have does some distinct advantages. The most important is that it doesn't take up a ton of space since I don't have it. I can still get a good pump but I feel like I am not doing enough. When I was at the gym, I was always able to do enough to get sore but that is not the case with this machine. I can work up a sweat but that's about it. But for someone who is looking for something that will allow them to tone up and not build a lot of muscle, I would recommend the Total Gym. I hope that is helpful.

I was able to get my workout in tonight. I did a pretty decent back workout and I did some on my biceps. I also did some ab work. I will admit I can always feel it in my abs on this thing so I guess that is pretty good. I did my chest workout yesterday so I have 2 good days going in a row right now. Depending on my knee, I am going to try to do some cardio over at my parents tomorrow. They have a treadmill so I can use that just about anytime I want. Who's next to post what they have done?
 
CJK, I forgot to answer your question, right now we're in Caribbean Beach, I'm hoping that I'll be able to switch us over to a standard view at AKL by the time we get there, I just don't want to lose our dining package. :) Let's keep in touch and maybe we can figure out a way to meet up!

I'm trying to keep myself busy today around the house while we wait for the Verizon guy to come hook up our landline, we're getting rid of Vonage today. So we're just waiting.
 
What a sad, sad time it is right now. My thoughts and prayers are with everyone affected by the Virginia tragedy. :( :hug:

o2bacelt: Have you ever stayed at AKL before? We just love it there!!!! We stayed there a few years ago and barely left the hotel. There's just so much to explore and enjoy there. We decided to stick with a value resort this fall, because when we're back in December, we're staying at the Polynesian for the first time (a lifelong dream of mine) since we got the 40% off code. I can hardly wait! :goodvibes

Bubba: Congrats to DW on the new job! :thumbsup2 Sounds like you had some great quality time with the kids while DW was in training. Good job getting some work outs in!

As for me, well there's good and bad news! The good news is my workouts. On Saturday I did some aerobics. Monday I was on the treadmill for 52 minutes. Yesterday I did pilates and today I'm doing some running and stretching. The bad news? I really blew my eating on the weekend. :confused3 It's a strange thing really. I find exercising soooooo much easier than keeping my food under control. I've been really good so far this work week, but then this weekend will be a challenge yet again. We're having a revolving door of company this weekend. I'm cooking some healthier things, but still not as healthy as it would be if company wasn't coming! I'm trying though!!

That's it for me now. The treadmil is calling me. I hope everyone is having a healthy week!
 
CJK when are you going in Dec.? We'll be back again Nov. 29 through Dec. 8. We're probably staying at All Star Movies on that trip. Who knows maybe we can get together twice. :)

If everyone thinks about it, tomorrow (Friday) is Hokie Hope Day. Please wear your maroon and orange tomorrow to help us celebrate and remember. There is going to be a moment of silence at noon EDT. I ran around everywhere today collecting things for the house and shirts for me and Delaney to wear tomorrow. I'm hoping to get us back into the gym starting Monday. We've been off our gym schedule and our family schedule for what seems like forever now so I'm trying to get us back on. I think this weekend will be us digging out the apartment if it kills all of us I will be able to walk around here and have all the laundry done.
 
Sorry that I have been out for a couple of days as I had phone issues and wasn't able to connect to the internet but we have now got all of that taken care of. I hope everyone is doing well. It seems like we all have upcoming trips to get ready for so I know motivation shouldn't be an issue. I know I have been working out just about every night. I really don't feel like I am getting the same quality of a workout that I got while I was at the gym but I really am not complaining. I can get on the machine any time I want. Exercise as long as I want and focus on all of my body parts. I am thinking about getting one more machine for my abs. You may have seen the informercial. It's called the Ab-Doer. It looks pretty interesting. Wal-Mart has it right now for $70.00 when it was $100.00. I think I am going to have to do that. Otherwise, all is well. I will check back either later tonight or tomorrow. I am off to wash my car and pick up the kids.

Hey Everyone! I'm so glad the thread didn't close. I've been bummed without the support system. I've actually stayed away from the WISH boards lately because of lack of drive and no accountability. Not a good excuse to put on 2 pounds.

Ah well, it's a new day and I'm happy to see everyone!

Bubba - did you get the ab-doer? I was thinking of the hip hop abs cd myself

Twotoohappy Great to hear from you again! I hope you had a wonderful trip to the World. As far as the Ab-Doer, I did get it but I am going to take it back. It isn't what I thought it would be. It actually feels like it is going to put a "burn" mark on my arms and the roller that goes up and down your back, keeps sticking to my shirt. Plus, I tried the routine that it recommends and I don't feel anything in my abs at all. I got a better ab workout with a $10 ab roller so I am going to take it back and get something else. Now, the Ab Lounge does a good job. I tried one of them at the store and I could really feel it. But with this, I didn't feel anything.

Otherwise, I think my DW has finally had an epiphany. She has supposedly been dieting and exercise seriously for the last month. Well, she did a weigh in the other day and has actually gained 1 pound in the last month. Then, she admitted to lying to me about doing her exercise. :eek: :mad: I have to admit that I got pretty upset by that announcement. How can she feel like she is getting back at me by not taking care of herself? :confused3 Anyway, I think she is mad at herself now and hopefully, realizing what kind of health dangers she is putting herself in. I can only hope and pray.:worship:

Thanks for letting me vent for just a minute. Now, let's get out there. This is the beginning of a new week. I made the challange last week for everyone to post what they did for exercise and no one did. I'm starting back at the gym today, I'm trying to decide whether or not I want to get in the pool or just go upstairs and do the cardio and weight rooms. I'm just glad that I'm heading back. I'm thinking about attending the reunion for the class I was in my freshman year of high school, we moved after freshman year from NJ to VA. I've been talking to some of my then classmates, it's during the weekend when my DH will be at a conference in Vegas so I'd have to go by myself, we'll see what happens. I'm having a hard time deciding. My class is having a 20 year reunion probably in October. I think they are waiting to find out the football schedule because they want to do it homecoming weekend. Should be fun. :)

I'll post when I get back from the gym and from our couple of errands.
 
Hey everyone! First, I want to report that I did do my workout tonight. I even got my daughter to jump in with me for a little while. She has always been a couch potato but it seems like she is getting interested in her health more and more. Makes me happy. :banana:

My DW is gone for another week with her new job. She has already gotten her first paycheck and it was actually better than what we were expecting. We were very happy. Now, if I could just get the rest of my money from my wreck, we will be doing ok.

I hope all of you are doing well this Monday evening. Are we re-focusing our efforts this week? We all have been slacking away from our "healthier lifestyles" a bit this year. For whatever reason, we are forgetting to take care of ourselves as well as our loved ones. Let's remember. If we truly love our friends and families, then we need to take care of ourselves so we can stay with them as long as we can.
