Diet? What diet? A countdown: 18 TS restaurants on TIW card...#1 on pg. 18!

I'm trying Chefs for the first time on my next trip!!! Thanks for the post and I actually think that cheese puff on the kids menu looks FABULOUS!!!

Okay, you have swayed me back to the other side! I LOVE mexican food...all kinds. I ate at San Angel once a few years ago and it was good, not great, but I would return without hesitation. The 2nd time I was not impressed at all. Blech. But your entire meal looks nothing like what we had so I will gladly try this restaurant again! I'm a new lover of guacamole too so that will be on the list!

My friend had that margarita (or something similar) from the tequila bar there...I had a taste and I agree it was yummy, but strong!

I enjoyed Chefs too on one of my last visits. I also had the quiche, which I liked, but I ate so much of the onion soup and bread that I wasn't very hungry once it arrived. My niece and nephew both inhaled their hamburgers and my niece is VERY picky. She got a side of pasta because she doesn't like french fries :confused3 and I had a taste...very good, I think it had some cheese on it too.

Hey, I guess my colleagues at work are right...I'm good at convincing people to do things!! :lmao: I know I can be very persuasive at times, but San Angel really was great. And yes, the margarita was strong! Hey, like my mom says, why have weak drinks? Just GET THE JOB DONE QUICKLY!! :rotfl2:

How is the onion soup at Chefs? I bet it's amazing!! :goodvibes

don't know why it took me so long to join in but here i am! love your reviews so far!

We tried Sannaa for the first time this year too and we loved it! Ok, at least I loved it but when I mentioned it to DBF last night he said 'yeah it was good but nothing special!' Good to know how he really feels!

We also did 1900 Park Fare for dinner lasst year and I cannot wait to go back! We had Cinderella and company for characters and I would go back for the Ugly Step Sisters alone! So much fun!

Can't wait to read more reviews! Thanks for sharing!

I like your mom's motto!

The onion soup was really, really good. I'm not a soup person in general, but onion is one of the few I do like - especially from restaurants. I pretty much emptied the bowl. I would actually go there and just get soup and salad and bread :cloud9:

Hi, glad you're on board for my reviews and that you are enjoying them!

DH and I both loved Sanaa. We also miss Boma though. We enjoyed Boma dinner very much on our 2008 trip but were hesitant to go back because we both got very bad heartburn the night we ate there. It wasn't any fault of the restaurant...Dh and I both have very sensitive stomachs and we ate a loot at Boma, we love new and different foods so we tried everything with all different spices we are not used to eating, and most of the desserts had alcohol in them! DH now takes Prilosec for a few days before every vacation, and throughout each vacation too. He should have done that on the 2008 trip...I am OK with Pepcid AC and Tums. So maybe we will go back to Boma next time, armed with heartburn meds! ;)

We tried the dinner at 1900 Park Fare on our 2008 trip. The characters were very funny, but we weren't at all impressed with the food. We like the dinner buffets much better at Crystal Palace and Chef Mickey's. However, the breakfast at 1900 Park Fare was amazing and we will definitely be back for that!

Yeah, my mom knows how to have a good time! That's one of the reasons we love to go on vacation with the whole family...even more fun! :goodvibes

I like soups but I am very picky with them. I don't like soups that are overly salty. I prefer flavor over a salty taste any day! But I do love french onion soup and I may just have to try it at Chefs next time! I also want to try escargots there...we just weren't in the mood for it for lunch. Maybe we should go for dinner next time.

Your lunch at Chefs looked really yummy

Your DH's comment about his entree being like a 'French Fajita' really made me laugh :rotfl:

DH always makes me laugh at restaurants! He is not nearly as into food as I am. Don't get me wrong, he appreciates good food when he has it, it's just that he relies on me to find it! :rotfl: It's like when we typically eat Mexican food here, he says everything is the same, just a different shape, size and name! A burrito and a soft taco are the same to him, except he eats one with his hands and the other with a knife and fork! I think that's why he got the tamales at San Angel, because it was actually different...no tortilla! He does get impressed by really good food though, it's just not a priority for him to search for it! It makes me happy though...he always trusts me to choose our restaurants, and I like that! ;)

I just found your reviews and I am loving them. I had always written San Angel off as a place I wouldn't eat, but after your review I'm seriously reconsidering it. My ADRs for my September trip are all in stone, but maybe next year...

I love that you're using a countdown too! Can't wait to see the rest.

Welcome to my reviews and thank you!

I was very skeptical about San Angel too. But, I have a couple of friends who have eaten there and recommended it, so we gave it a shot, and we're glad we did! It probably also depends on what you order, but we both loved what we had. Your trip is so soon, you're so lucky! Where do you have ADRs for this upcoming trip?

OK everyone, I have 4 reviews left to my countdown! I am trying to figure out how to do this, so I need a little help.

Since I had listed all the restaurants where we had ADRs in my first post, once I get down to #2 on my countdown, you will all be able to figure out what #1 is. Now that we're getting close, how would you like me to do this? Would you like me to do #4 and #3 as individual reviews and then put #2 and #1 together in the same post? I have a LOT of pics for my #2 choice, so I don't know if the post would be too big for it to go through.

Any suggestions?

Whatever is easier would be fine. Or you could do 4 & 3 then do 1, then 2(the runner up) type of a thing. It doesn't really matter. Even if we know which one is the winner, we still want to read why and see the pictures.

Thanks!

::yes:: ITA - No matter how you do it, we'll all be looking forward to your pictures & comments.

I can't even begin to tell you how much we enjoyed eating lunch here! This was the day after we arrived, July 14, 2010. DHS was the first park we went to on this trip. I had made a 12pm ADR for lunch here, and we arrived at 11:45, but for some reason when we got up to the podium, the host told me that our ADR was for 12:30pm. :confused3 We waited about 25 minutes at they sat us at a table (a CAR!!) at about 12:10pm.

We were there for lunch on the same day! We had a 12:15 ADR, but they were able to seat us a little early.

I finally caught up! I am so enjoying reading your reviews! I have made so many of the same reservations for our trip in September! Thanks for taking the time to do this...I can't wait to find out what is next on the countdown.:goodvibes

We probably saw you in the check-in area! :rotfl2: We loved it there!

Honestly, any way is fine with me. I'd do whatever is easiest for you. I just like reading the opinions and looking at the pictures. Plus, I know that I wouldn't take the time to go back and try to figure it out by process of elimination so it'd still be a surprise for me - I had totally forgotten that you posted a list of all your restaurants.

Are you going to do a ranking or any sort of review for any counter service restaurants or snacks?
