Any updates?
Y'all are really making me want to make (another) appt with my doctor. Seems we've been throwing so much money to the medical community this year, but I really think these pills will help me with my goals. I've lost 8 pounds on my own by getting more activity, cutting out pepsi, and making better food choices (but not great ones...). Anyway, great job ladies!
PAdisMOM and PaulDavid's mom that is a great lose for 2 weeks. I have only lost 4 lbs. but had to stop after 4 days because of Thyroid meds but have not gained any back at least. I called the pharmacy today and asked about taking the Phen with the levothyroxine and they said it's fine. I have heard different people sya differently though. Dr. said it's fine but who knows since another pharamicist told me not to take them together.
So today I decided to just take a half dose of the 37.5 everyday if I can tolerate it. It made my mouth dry and I could not sleep at all but I'm hoping that will get better after I take it for a full week. I don't think I can tolerate the whole 37.5mg. Also not sure my DR. will give me more than a month's worth so well see how it goes. Most important to get my throid under control but I really need to lose 20lbs so I can look better in a bathing suit. I would be happy 120 lbs. since I'm only 5'2". Lets keep each other posted and you can PM me if you want to.
I am on these also. I have lost 30 lbs since the middle of January. I can only take it for one more month so now I started taking it every other day. I can already see on the odd days when I don't take it, I eat as if I did take the pills. Seems I'm not so hungry on the odd days anymore. Which is great! AND I don't eat all the junk at work anymore. Just doesn't taste good. Now I realize how much of that stuff I really ate! Good luck to everyone else!I have about 20 more to lose.

Stay REALLY diligent when you go off. I found that after a couple of weeks, I was eating as much as what I had eaten before the pills AND my metabolism was super slow. I actually gained back almost 15 pounds in about a month. And I am not a super huge eater. My metabolism was just crawling after eating so little for 3 months.
I think the best way that you can prepare to go off is 1) what you are doing--going every other day and really watching your eating habits, and 2) strength training. If you build up some muscle, you will keep your metabolism up. If you can boost your metabolism a little through the exercise, it will help counteract that you are eating more again.

You've all inspired me to make an appt with my dr. too about this. My weight has been going up every year, even though my eating habits/exercise habits haven't changed. I was thin until after my youngest (3rd child) was born. Had to lose some weight inbetween babies, but got down to 149 before 3rd child. Now, I am embarassed to say I weigh the same as I weighed at 9 months pregnant! I just don't recognize myself anymore. I have tried Weight Watchers (a couple of times) and Nutrisystem. I really hated at least half of the Nutrisystem "food" and my weight loss was so slow with Weight Watchers. I am back to my daily walking, and hoping to start phentermine to give me a boost this time. I know if I can get some significant weight off that I will not go back. I will remember how miserable I felt in this body! Thanks for sharing and being so honest.![]()
. I have tried weight watchers and it didn't work at all for me. Also have tried Jenny Craig and I lost 10 lbs. last year(gained most of it back on DDP) but it took over 2 months and was a struggle for me. I had to exercise twice a day and eat only 1200 calories. Luckily the food was good at least. I guess my thyroid took a turn for the worse and now I can't lose at all. The Phentermine was helping a bit though as I lost 3 lbs. in one week, which for me is good. I have lost another 1 lb this week but I only took half a Phen yesterday. This scares me. I'm so worried that I will gain weight back. Hopefully I can get my metabolism up by exercising.

I sure can sympathize, having my second child completely changed my body. I'm sure it won't look anywhere near the same even after I lose weight. My whole body is wider, including my rib cage and hips. I'm short (5'2") and had a really big baby (10 lbs.) that stretched me out unbelievable. I looked like a freak show when I was pregnant. You sound exactly like me. Both of my babies were big 10 lb 7oz and 10 lb 1 oz. I gained 100 lbs with my first one but lost it all in 3 months. 6 years later had 2nd baby gained 50 pounds while on a doctor supervised 1600 calorie a day diet (with exercise) and I still can't lose the weight 4 years later. My thyroid is so out of whack. I get so frustrated! Mr dr. will not prescribe any weight loss drug for me.
Are you on Thyroid meds? Have you had your levels checked recently? Mine have gone up alot in only 6 months and they just started me on meds last week. Before they were borderline but I can feel the difference the last few months I've been so tired and losing weight was hard before but it became impossible for me. If your Dr. knows how hard you are trying after 4 long years then why not ask again about a weight loss prescription to give you a bit of help along with diet and exercise?
That is why she cannot put me on weight loss drugs. She did try one prescription that is for migraines and bipoloar disorder
(sorry can't remember the name) -- that has a side effect of making you drop weight fast - did nothing with me except for making me absolutely stupid after a week. I did lose about 20 pounds doing Atkins -- but I am not a meat eater -- I had to force myself to eat every day because if I never had to eat beef, chicken, fish, pork ever again -- I really would not be upset. As soon as I went off -- I gained it all back in 2 months.
So i'm still down only 10 lbs. I know that's not bad for only 2 weeks, but I am ready to lose more!
