I just booked a AAA ressie and when he asked me for my card number, I told him that I don't have it yet. I wanted to make sure they had AAA rates available for my timeframe before purchasing the AAA membership. So, he just noted that I will be getting a new card and did tell me that I have to have a valid card to show when I check in. Just wanted to pass that info on.

I am using AAA discount and was asked for my # when I made the ressie, also was told that will have to show a valid card at check in. Membership is like $60 yearly and we are saving over $40 per night off our room so it definitely paid for itself. Plus we have used our card for discounts at lots of restaurants, attractions and stores over the years.

Luckily we have never needed the towing part of AAA! ;)

I too have just booked a package through AAA and will have to buy my membership when i go pay for my deposit next week. I don't want to travel without AAA coming from NC so i will definitly be purchasing it.
LETS HAVE SOME FUN!!!! :cool1:

Through CRO, right? I just called today to get a quote on a AAA price, and the agent I spoke with couldn't even do that without a AAA number, much less book the thing.

Maybe it's the old "agent roulette" game that needs to be played...

Yes, through CRO. He did not even have a bit of an issue with it and made it sound like it is common to have people get a new card before they actually check in. Try, try again. Good luck!

I've never been asked for my AAA # when booking. I haved been asked for it at check in every time though. Funny because I've yet to be asked for proof of my AP at check in! LOL!

Seems like everyone has a different experience. I just got back from a stay at the Wilderness Lodge with a AAA discount and they did not ask for my card number over the phone nor did they ask to see the card at check in.
