Did your graduate decorate their cap?

I wasn't allowed to decorate my cap for my high school graduation. It's also not permitted at the college I attend. My sister just graduated this June (different high school than mine), and she wasn't allowed to decorate hers either. To be honest, I don't think we were that interested in decorating our caps to begin with, whether or not we were allowed to.

DD just graduated a few weeks ago and they weren't allowed to decorate theirs. None of my boys were allowed to and DH and I weren't allowed to either.

The kids were allowed to wear anything under their robes. Many boys had shorts and sneakers on and some girls were wearing flip flops. Didn't bother me at all, I was just surprised because my DSs had a dress code for graduation, but they went to a different HS.

No, but he did bring the beach balls!

That would never be allowed here- its a ceremony, not a rock concert.

I had a parent directly behind me in the bleachers who blasted an air horn. Not so fun when it's in your ear.
:

They also don't permit those at the ceremony, security is all over you if you blast one and you are escorted off the property.

They had to return the cap? I know I got to keep mine and my son got to keep his. Actually, I've never known anyone who's had to return it. First time for everything.

We have to return ours too- you have to give back the gown and cap in the bag it was issued to you in, if you do not then you do not get your diploma. They give you a fake at the ceremony and then a few days later you have to go to the school and pick up your real one. This way if you did anything stupid at graduation, such as wearing nothing under your robe and flashing, don't return cap and gown, etc. they have your diploma hostage.

Graduation rehearsal is 9am on Friday, if you don't go to rehearsal you can't walk at graduation...Prom is Thursday night, so they do that in order to cut down on the after prom stuff since they have to be at the school the next morning by 9am.

We decorated our caps when I graduated HS. We had to purchase our caps and gowns. We didn't wear our school colors for graduation, we had class colors that we chose. So our school colors were orange and black but our class colors were green and silver (girls in green, boys in silver) we also had a dress code for what we had to wear underneath. No pants for girls and we had to wear dress shoes. Boys had to wear dark pants and shoes with a shirt and tie (we had the same dress code for choir even though we wore choir robes) I'm not sure how the HS in our town is, my son is going into the 6th grade so we have a few years until we are at that stage
