Did you know anyone famous before they were famous?

Mike Bordick (baseball player) although I was much younger than him..... LOL and Ricky Craven (race car driver). Stephen King used to teach at my high school while he wrote Carrie (he actually lives one street over from me now.)

When I was in high school (back in the 70's) Dan Castalanetta (voice of Homer Simpson) was in my home room. I sat near him for 4 years and he was just as funny and talented back then as he is now.

My husband went to school with and was semi friends with Josh Hartnett!! That is cool :) He transferred to Mpls South Jr. Year, though, away from DH's school.

Roger's cousin plays for the Carolina Panthers. That's about it here.

Actor Peter Bergman...soaps...went to my high school...and was the speaker for my Graduation.....LOL

My high school drama teacher is now a director of shows at WDW...

My husbands cousins and second cousins are the Gyllenhaal family...Steven (dad) Director, Jake ( Bubble Boy, Moonlight Mile, October sky, etc.), Maggie (actress)

:teeth: Kim, I loved that Bubble Boy movie.

I went to elementary school for one year with Eddie Murphy :)

I went to HS with Marilu Henner. She was a year behind me. It was a small school, so everyone said hi to everyone, but our paths never crossed in the classroom.

Walter and Connie Payton were neighbors of ours when he first started with the Bears. They had just had Jared at the time, and he wasn't really famous. Once he started making the big bucks they moved to a much bigger house in a neighboring suburb.

I have to say that they were the nicest couple, and he never turned anyone down for an autograph. I think it's incredibly sad that he died so young. :(

I also used to babysit for some of the Chicago Cubs and their wives back in the late 70's. Some were well known and some were not. Rick Monday, Bill Bill Bonham and Jack Aker gave me the most business. :D

i went to high school with broadway's heather headley...she was a sophomore during my senior year. we were in choir together...she had such and amazing voice even back then...

there was a guy i went to school with in arizona...denis heames. he's been in a few made for TV movies over the years. the one i remember off the top of my head was "aftermath: a test of love" with richard chamberlain. denis played the son that was held hostage and tortured by his captors...

other than that, i think that's it...

I forgot....I don't know what she's doing now but Leslie Bibb won the Seventeen model search when she went to the same high school that I did (a very small Catholic girls' school) and she went on to be an actress for at least a little while.

I was born in Flint, Michigan and grew up around the guys from Grand Funk Railroad...they would play at junior high dances back then.

I moved to Miami during my senior year. There was this terrific, handsome football player who also enjoyed singing. I sat next to him in Chorus and played opposite him in Oliver......I was Nancy and he was Bill Sykes.....back then his name was Rocky Echeverria but now he is know as Steven Bauer. He owns a restaurant here in Miami now, but most people know him from "Scarface". He is very talented and a super nice guy. He even came to our high school reunion with Melanie Griffith many moons ago.....I don't know anyone from school that was not thrilled for him to make it.....what a nice guy!

Stephen King used to teach at my high school while he wrote Carrie (he actually lives one street over from me now.)
This is funny, since I read his book on writing. He talks about his time as a teacher and how much he hated it. And he was very low paid and used to go home to his horrible trailer and write Carrie leaning on the dryer. If you ever get a chance read this book. You will have a new respect for Stephen King. He overcame incredible odds and was a truly dedicated hard worker. The fact that he and his wife's marriage lasted thru those really tough times is an incredible testimony.
Oh, my dd just told me that Anne Heche attended our local highschool where my sons go and I work.

DW Sue attended the same high school as one of the members of N*Sync.....although she graduated YEARS before he was born. :teeth:

In college I dated a guy who's cousin is an animator for Disney. He animated Belle, Jasmine and Young Simba to name a few. His name is Mark Henn and he use to be the guy you would always see on the TV specials (like when Full House went to Disney World.) I spent some time with him and his family one summer.

My mother was Art Schlichter's (of Ohio State fame) Second Grade teacher - but she didn't teach him to gamble :(

I actually played a small part in helping some people become famous. I was a DJ at a radio station in Harrisburg, PA when a local band called "Fuel" sent me their demo. I had gotten to know them from their weekly gig at an area night club which I hosted on behalf of the station. I thought their stuff was great and I passed it on to my boss. We started playing their song "Shimmer", and within 6 months they were signed to Sony and were producing their first CD whch ended up going Platinum.

I shared a few drinks with the guys from Fuel, at this same club..

they always packed the place...

I also did a photo shoot for Little Texas shortly before they signed their big contract.....too bad they split up ...they are a great bunch of guys

We had a fellow actor in community theatre in Bethlehem, PA many years ago, named Dan Roebuck. He went to Hollywood to "make it big".

He's done pretty well for himself --

The Fugitive (one of Tommy Lee Jones' detectives)
Project X (roommate of Matthew Broderick)
Matlock (Andy Griffith's assistant attorney)
Final Destination (detective)

and various other film and TV credits.

Also, we we friends and fellow actors of the parents of Skye McCole Bartusiak --

The Patriot (youngest daughter that wouldn't talk to Mel Gibson)
Don't Say A Word (daughter of Michael Douglas)
and she was supposed to play Helen Keller with Hilary Swank on Broadway, but it was cancelled after their run in NC).

Also, we were fellow actors of Lara Jill Miller who was the youngest daughter of Nell Carter on TV's "Gimme A Break". Now she's an entertainment lawyer.

:D :D ROFLMAO!!!!:D :D

I dated a guy in college who went on to be a Cy Young award winner. Funny thing was when I knew him, he was not what you would call a dedicated athlete. A few years after we broke up...success...oh well! I think that he actually continued to be plagued by drug and alcohol problems through most of his career.

I also went to the same high school as Goldie Hawn, but she was nine years ahead of me.

I knew a guy that became kind of famous a few years back.

Does anyone remember the guy that billed himself as the
"Human Calculator"? He had a program that he sold on infomercials for teaching math to kids using unusual techniques. He was on Dateline, 20/20, all of those type shows demonstrating how it worked.

Anyway, I knew him when he was in the Air Force.
