Did you go on a HS Senior Trip and if you did, where?

1981 WDW from NJ. Eastern Airlines. Remember when the Orlando Airport was the painted cinderblock Civil Air Patrol airport? Our tour include a fabulous visit to overpriced Florida Festival. What a ripoff that place was!

2001 my high school was in Arizona and we went to six flags and sea world in California

No. In junior high -yeah I"m old- we went to a local amusement park for the day but nothing in high school. No senior trip, It also would have been hard to plan for 1100 kids to go anywhere.

I'm old enough that high school language classes didn't go to their countries for a week either, that was reserved for a college experience.

No class trips in HS here.
Last class trip is always in 8th grade. We did a trip to a historic site in the state when I was a kid.
My kids went on a day trip to Washington DC and then the 'fun' trip to Kings Dominion.

About 100 students in my Senior Class took a trip to an all-inclusive resort in Cancun. We had an amazing time.

The HS was not involved in the planning (which honestly, in hindsight makes me wonder if the entire class was actually invited/informed), it was organized by the students in conjunction with a travel agent and some adults who agreed to chaperone. It cost us about $700 for a week

We didn't have one back at my school in the dark ages when I was a senior. It doesn't matter, though, because there's no way in h-e-double-hockeysticks my parents would have ever let me go on one.

My late husband, on the other hand, got to go on his. He was graduating from a Benedictine prep school for boys entering the Catholic seminary and their senior trip was to Boston, where they got to see Bishop Fulton Sheen speak at a conference and then got to confess to him. Talk about a fun-filled senior trip, huh?

My current boyfriend went on his senior trip to New York, where he and a bunch of others got sent home in disgrace (big surprise....alcohol was involved) and didn't get to go to the prom and almost didn't get to graduate. I guess it took some serious groveling on his part to get to "walk" at graduation.

Ahhhh, the early and middle 1960's......

No senior trip. No senior skip day. No fun....

I did however go to France for 9 days right after graduation. The French teacher had an organized trip every 2 years. My BFF was going and I was telling my grandma about it. My grandma said well do you want go, I'll pay for it for your graduation gift. Ummmmm...YES! And then like a month later my BFF backed out. But I didn't! That trip was amazing!!

1983 grad here. No senior trip existed in my district.

Oldest dd did not go on a "senior trip" but she was able to go to the Obama Inauguration her senior yr. She also went to DC for 8th grade.

Youngest dd is officially a senior now. She has never been on a school trip. Not sure what we will do. Hmmmm....

I went to one of those my Sr year - Reagan's 2nd one :rotfl2:

Our school had no "senior trip", so a bunch of buddies & I all drove to Daytona for a week. Originally, when we started planning as Sophomores, there were about 15 going and the plan was to purchase a retired school bus :rotfl2: By the time we actually graduated, we pared it down to 6 guys & 2 compact cars. Had a great time :thumbsup2 We did waste one day - the only day of full sun - at Disneyworld. Uggh. That was NOT how this guy wanted to spend the day at 17 years old :rolleyes2

I went on several trips during high school, most of which were for theatre. Senior year was New York City (with the teachers) and Chicago without them (us students just planned and shared hotel rooms together). Junior year was Boston (with teachers). Sophomore year was my biggest school trip- England and Scotland. It was wonderful!

Right after high school, my friends and I did a big road trip throughout the southeast. We also had numerous adventures throughout Florida.

I traveled way more with my friends/classmates than I ever did with my family.

Hi,
Graduated in 1983 and myself and seven of our classmates spent a week in WDW. I think we stayed on IDrive and we all still laugh about it to this day! My BFF turned 50 yesterday and we were just talking about it! One of the parents put it together for us and some of us just used our tax return $$ for the trip. It was a great time! Found the thread because I'm seeking advice on planning one in June for my son and his friends!

I think we had a week-long senior trip after the school year ended, but my parents wouldn't have allowed me to go - not that I wanted to go.

However, before the school year ended we had a weekend trip, although it started Friday morning. We went on something like four chartered Greyhound buses to Southern California, where we proceeded to visit Knotts Berry Farm, Disneyland, and Magic Mountain - being at all three within a 24-hour window. This may indicate how old I am, but the Disneyland Grad Nite entertainment was Expose, Roger (RIP), Force MDs, and Michael Bolton.

Sure did
Hawaii 1980

called my parents half way through the trip saying I wasn't coming home, and I could attend University of Hawaii :rolleyes1

Only trip I have ever taken that I literally could have never gone home from..even just to say my goodbye's. Once home tho~realized I would have missed my family terribly. Back then I had no idea how lucky I was to be able to go, but know it now 35 years later!

1983 - Hawaii! The trip was organized by a travel agency owned by a fellow senior. There were chaperones you could go to if you needed them, but they didn't really keep track of us or make us check in. The whole group went to a Luau together, but anything else was we did was up to us. I was with four friends and we stayed busy the whole week - dinner cruise, Pearl Harbor, island bus tour, snorkeling, etc. Our classmates mostly hung around the beach or pool at the hotel. Every time we left, people would say, "Where are you guys going now?" Then everyone else complained that they didn't do anything on the trip!

There was a trip to France but we could barely afford French fries at the time! We had a senior day at Kings Island, does that count?

this is much like how our trip went. It was amazing and soooo beautiful! We did have chaperone's and our room was adjoining theirs lol...all I'm gonna say is they were cooler than half the kids on the trip, and there is NO WAY any mobile bar cart activities that took place then would be allowed now..yep, that trip was one for the books :beach: :sunny: :drinking1:thumbsup2

We had both an "official" trip and the "unofficial" Senior Week. Senior trip was narrowed down to a day trip to six flags (by homeroom voting...other options were disney for a week, NYC for a long weekend, DC for a long weekend), and it was fun enough. Senior Week is organized by you and your friends, and everyone goes to Ocean City, MD, the week after graduation. I only went for a half-week but it was amazing and SO much fun!
