Did you ever like a certain food when you went to elementary/middle/high school?

My SO raves about the food they would serve when he went to elementary school. Especially the rolls. I don't remember ever liking school food. Yesterday I found some rolls that brought his taste buds back 20+ years. I tried them and I have to say if that's what he's been looking for-YUCK. They're ok, but not my kind of thing. I told him since I've found what he's been looking for, for him not to be surprised if they company goes out of business and I'll have to conduct another search for him.

For some reason the chicken nuggets I liked. I wouldn't eat them now... but I do remember loving them.

Funny you should ask this question as I just ate lunch w/ DD today.

YUCK is all I can say. Chicken patty on a bun with peas and applesauce on the side.

I remember liking the pizza and chocolate milk and thats about it.

I miss the square shaped pizzas we had in elementary school. They were soooo good!

Oh yes, those rolls were good!! DS's school quit making them though when they went to an outside service. All I can say about their lunch now is - yuck.

We lived for pizza day. I'll have to say our school lunches in NY were much better than what they served when I moved to Texas. I never ate a hot lunch in the cafeteria from 7th-12th grade.

I liked homemade rolls, pigs in a blanket & pizza in high school (can't remember much from elementary). The food I ate when I visited my DD at her lunch is really not that great, she seems to like most of it though, especially the chicken they have 3 times a week.

Buttered noodles. They used to scoop 'em out of a pan with an ice cream scoop, and remarkably, they'd stay in that same shape on your plate!

Our school had the worst pizza imaginable. This is what it was: A piece of white bread (toasted?) with a clump of tomato sauce and a piece of American cheese. Oh, and a pepperoni. Is that digusting or what? And they called it.... drum roll....Pizza Supreme!

I remember really liking the "hamburgers"

The "rolls" were dusted with flour on the top and were very dry...in fact, you could have proably shot one out of a cannon without effecting it any!

The "hamburgers" were pre-formed and the color of old, well worn shoe leather...if you could have put threads around the outside of 'em...they'd have made excellent 3" plugs and fittings for black iron piping!

I dernt knoe why...but I used to love 'em!

I loved the rolls!!! Especially with tons of butter and peanut butter on it.

I also used to love their "real" macaroni and cheese.

In the 70's:

I used to LOVE the rectangular pizza slices.

The best were the homemade yeast rolls on chicken and noodles day! Yummy!

We had these things called peanut butter smoothies - kind of a cross between fudge and a brownie. I really liked those too.

Oh man. Memories.

I liked the pizza especially. It was the large squares with sausage on it. The rolls were great. My all time favorite was the fudge. It was a large size, wasn't too sweet and had oatmeal in it. That reminds me, I need to find that recipe.

(I loved those orange dreamsicles, and nutty buddies.)

the blueberry muffins and the ice cream they sold at lunch on the playground

high school food isn't bad...almost all of it is ordered in from other restaurants...of the actual cafeteria food, i like the banana bread.

I loved the mashed potatoes. For .25, we'd get a bowlful, yeah, they were instant, but soooo good.

DD has made-to-order salads, turkey wraps, pizza, etc., at her school. Wish they did when I was there.
