An anxious online community awaits news of how Fort Myers-based Barry Hom weathered the storm!

Barry, if you're out there, report in.

Actually he's on vacation doing another of his famous roller coaster tours and should be in Pennsylvania about now! Good thing he planned his vacation now!

Barry said he'd be up here in PA . We've only had a bit of rain so far in this part of the world!

We got a postcard from him yesterday from his visit to "Lakemont Park". I'm assuming he's just fine!

I got one too!

I got one yesterday from Six Flags Great Adventure--it was written the day before yesterday. I got it yesterday!

Barry was in Knoebels yesterday with me and Mickey88. He didn't seem too concerned about home when I asked him about the hurricane. I'm not sure he watched the news to see the damage.

I was in PA when Charley hit. I was in Knoebel's in Elysburg, PA. I had called my parents and they said the house was OK, but trees were uprooted around them. When I got home, trees and signs were down, but most buildings and houses were OK. I did see storm footage on TV. One thing's for certain: I will never live in a mobile home, especially in Florida. Hurricanes and strong storms tear them apart like tin cans. I don't care if it's free -- I'm not setting foot in a mobile home!

Hi Barry....sounds like you are one of the lucky ones. Just for future reference.......August is obviously a hurricane season - which other months are prone to these hurricanes?

Glad to hear you were ok up in PA..and glad you had no damage at your house to speak of......:sunny:

I was concerned with how the van did. Especially down by the river! A friend of mine from Ft. Myers Beach still hasn't been allowed to go home yet.

Barry,
Glad you were safe in PA and that you had no major damage when you returned (Your parents, too.)

Selina,
As Seahag correctly posted, the official hurricane season is from June through November but the peak months are August and September.

Webmaster - if you don't get blown away on the coasters, how could some hurricane possibly take you out? :goodvibes

Is there any way you could search by area to see if some of our comrades have not checked in? I know most of the major posters have already reported their circumstances - hope everyone is ok!

I have to say I agree with your mobile home occupation theory - there is no way I would ever buy or live in one south of Georgia!

So - are there any dents in the van by the river?

Welcome home Barry! I'm glad your parents house is ok.:D
