Did we really just buy DVC at BLT? Taking MIL in Dec! Acronyms abound!

I loved reading your trip history!! Very interesting! I should do that in my PTR, too, but first I want to find the pictures from my first trip to Disney. I think my mom has some of them...hmm...

You should definitely make a point to check out Nemo when you go to Animal Kingdom. I think Pooh would like either one of those, it's a great show for kids, and since you've never seen it before, it'll be extra magical for both of you! When I went with my family in Dec '08, most of them had never seen it before and just seeing them watch the show with the same expression on their faces that I had the first time I saw it was PRICELESS!

I did the College Program, too! I did it in '07 and worked at Old Key West in their merchandise shop. After the program I was full-time for a few months, but decided to go home so I could finish school without having to worry about out-of-state fees. I'm seasonal now at Art of Disney at Downtown Disney :)

I love AK too- the first time, i was like- it's okay, second trip, i was like - wow, i like it and third trip, i loved it. I could also do 2 days here. But we will try and fit in one if we can. We will skip Kali River i know for sure (i did it in Dec anyways and just know we can skip it, such a short ride and we don't care about getting wet!). But our must dos are the safari, EE, and Primeval Whirl is a fave of mine. i missed it this last trip too. Plus dinosaur of course and we need to let Pooh enjoy the boneyard. that is a priority this time! And we did the trails in December too, so i am okay with skipping those (probably an every other year thing for us with limited time). I do enjoy ITTBAB, so that's on the list as well. I've never seen the parade there, we always leave before it starts, so we might make it this time, we will see. I am hoping we can fit in either Nemo or Lion King. I've seen LK many times, but never seen Nemo. Which would you recommend for a 3yo? great idea on the touring plans, i did have a subscription and think i will renew it! :wizard::confused3:rotfl:

Do you have TR started too? I can't wait to hear your plans! :) And thanks for reading and the tips. :santa:

Primeval Whirl is one of my favorites, too! How funny! I thought I was the only one who really liked it. It was closed for rehab last time we were there, so it's definitely on my "must-do" this time. :thumbsup2

I've never ridden Dinosaur, so that's also on the list. I'm not sure why I've never ridden it, but I'm going to make a point to get on it this time. We'll probably do what you mentioned: let the girls play in the Boneyard while we take turns riding. I might do the child swap on rides that the girls can't get on, or we may just take turns getting in the single rider line. That line always seems to be short.

We'll skip Kali, too. I'm not a fan of wet rides in general (which is why I've never ridden Splash!) I'm not sure I can skip the trails, though. I love them. They do take a lot of time, though, so maybe we can run through them quick enough to see the animals.

If you've never seen Nemo, it's a must-do. It's just incredible. Magical. Caroline was 13 months the last time we were there, and she slept through the whole thing. I would bet that Pooh would really enjoy it, but maybe it can also be a good nap opportunity for him! :faint:Regardless, you need to see it! I think everyone needs to see it!

I was going to comment on your last post on the December thread, but I think you got some good advice. I will definitely agree with the lady who said to do the safari first. Ideally, I would say to head towards the standby line first thing and send DH to get EE fastpasses. That's going to be our plan. We're going to get a pre-rope drop ADR at Tusker House and then head to the safari before it opens, or right after. We'll send DH to get our EE fastpasses while we wait. That's the plan, anyway! We'll see how well it works out.

I don't have a PTR. I've never written one, and I'm pretty intimidated by them!:scared:

BTW- I don't know if you are a member of the online sample sale called One Kings Lane or not, but they are hosting a sale today for Walt Disney-inspired prints from PTM images. This is an invitation only website that sells high-end home decor items for a steal. Most of these prints are just $29, and they are super nice! If you want me to send you an invitation, just PM me your email address. You have to have an invite to even look around the site! I'm going to post this on the December thread, too, so don't be surprised if you see it again! :goodvibes

Hi, I am loving your PTR!!! Congrats on the DVC, your son is adorable, so cute!

We will be in Epcot on the 4th and the 9th (my birthday). It also seems like many of us may be at MK on the 6th too.

I do a lot of things you do to create our schedule, it works well for us.
That is so great you were in the CP program. I loved all the pictures from trips past. I swear we have seen your former roommate Heather before.

I am going to go read your 2009 TR since we are staying at the WL for part of our trip. I can't wait to read more of your plans!
ah- thank you so much for reading!! so cool- maybe we can try and meet up on the 4th. I wouldn't be surprised if you have seen my roomie Heather- she works a lot of hours there at the imagination pavilion. Yes, please check out the 09 report, there are more pics of the lodge in there too. You guys will love it so much!

Hellloooo!!! Just came across your PTR and am all caught up!

We went the same week in December last year; it was a great time! The weather was a little gross, but not any worse than here. (Yes, here! I'm in Rockwall; just moved there from Plano. DIS meet?? I've meet another DIS'er and I'm not crazy, I promise!)

Love your DVC story! That's going to be my gift for myself once I graduate from law school.

I'm looking forward to more from a fellow local! We're planning our first Halloween trip right now!
when did you go last December? we were there the 10-20th! so much fun! You are in Rockwall- really? that is so cool- another local disney nut who won't think i am crazy!! :rotfl::lmao: too funny. I grew up in Mesquite- Poteet HS (1992). I have lots of friends in Rockwall and Rowlett! Yes, we should totally have a DIS meet- just send me a PM!!! I've met up with some others years ago, and then this past year with 3 ladies from the area too. Plus someone in plano that also did the CP! a meet up is a must! Wow at law school- you definitely deserve a BIG reward!! My sister is a paralegal downtown if you need any connections once you graduate. We are planning to go back in October 2011 for MNSSHP and food and wine (plus our little guy's 4th bday then!). ;)

I am thinking next October and we will do a 4 day cruise since it will be our first and I don't know how everyone will do on a boat. Plus I want to do 4 days @ WDW before the cruise and 2 days after, which means we will get to go to our first MNSSHP:banana:

If we really enjoy ourselves then maybe we will cruise more
sounds like a magical trip!! i know, it is so hard to give up time at WDW for the cruise, so combining equal time at both is great. yeah for NMSSHP!!!

another CP'er!!! yeah! How did you like working at OKW and merchandise? and yeah for seasonal! the great thing is that since my program ended on January 3rd, my CM ID was renewed again for that whole next year- so i was able to come back for a mini reunion with my roomies and get in free still on my ID. loved it! i really miss things like property control and the discounts!!

we will definitely have to try Nemo. Pooh doesn't watch much TV, he just doesn't care for it and would rather be playing. i've tried to get him to watch nemo, but no luck with him watching more than 10 minutes of anything, including mickey mouse clubhouse! :rotfl:i guess it is a good thing he doesn't watch a lot of tv. :confused3;)

Primeval Whirl is one of my favorites, too! How funny! I thought I was the only one who really liked it. It was closed for rehab last time we were there, so it's definitely on my "must-do" this time. :thumbsup2

Thank you!! you solidified the 'do the safari first' idea then!! plus it gives Pooh something fun to do first instead of waiting around. I love Primeval whirl, it reminds me of this old school mousetrap roller coaster our zoo had when i was a kid, so it is nostalgic for me too. Dinosaur is a LOT of fun!!! you will enjoy it. I do love the trails - so if we have time, we might do them again. plus it won't be too hot or anything and we can really enjoy them. you know, i've ridden Kali like 3-4x now. one time we waited FOREVEr for it- not sure why we did that. the ride is over in like 2 minutes. i was so disappointed we waited so long for such a quick ride. then i felt like it just wasn't all that great- i thnk they could have done more theming wiht it. anyhow, i think we can skip it and be just fine with that, plus i don't want to be all soaked! like you, i prefer splash (one of my faves!) and will save the water for that. :thumbsup2

Thanks!! unfortunately, every wall in our house is almost filled completely, i don't have room for some of the prints i already have, so unfortunately no more buying for me. lol! i still have a 25th anniversary poster that ALL the characters signed- it was one of those that had all the characters on it together. my roomie was 'friends' with some of hte characters, like Buzz lightyear (in the daily toy story parade at HS) and pluto. So she had her friends autograph it for me. i need to frame it and hang it still. i'll try and post some pics of some of the prints i have framed. Plus i did Pooh's nursery in a Peter Pan theme- complete with a mural and prints too! ;)

I am still debating on a few final meals.

I do have confirmed:
*Crystal Palace breakfast (first full day)
*Chef Mickey's breakfast (last day)
*Le Cellier dinner
*Chefs De France Lunch
*Sci Fi dinner

now, debating on what to use for our Candlelight processional meal-----Tutto or Teppan Edo? or Rose and Crown? I think I have decided on trying the new Mexico place as our other dinner (for our first night).

Good plans!!!

We will also be at MK Dec 6, AK Dec 7 and Epcot Dec 10 for EMH, maybe we will bump into eachother

I FINALLY made it through your 2009 report and your PTR! I think it's so cool that your DH has finally given in! I want to buy into DVC so bad, but since I JUST managed to dig myself out of a mountain of debt, I really need to wait until my work situation gets more lucrative before I make a huge financial commitment like that. It will happen though!

I took DS to the world when he was about 16 months the first time, and he had a good time, but I am sure he will have a much better time this year. We are going in September, he will be 2.5 then, so in Dec when we go for our big trip he will be 2 and 3/4 :rotfl: He is currently 37 inches tall, so I have high hopes that he will get to ride some cool rides. I look forward to follwing your PTR since it will give me something to do right up until we leave!

P.S. I have a friend from Plano who is getting married in Dallas at the end of the month and we are going to the wedding! I have never heard of Plano before this year, and now i "know" 2 people from there!

The plans look great, it seems a lot of DISers will be in MK the 6th, we are all great planners :rotfl:.

So no real updates other than just waiting for our ADR day which i think is June 7th! I need to do the ADR calculator again and confirm!

Where is an ADR calculator? I figured our ADR day would be 6 months prior to departure (December 3), but I guess that's not right. Now I need to know what day it is!

now, debating on what to use for our Candlelight processional meal-----Tutto or Teppan Edo? or Rose and Crown? I think I have decided on trying the new Mexico place as our other dinner (for our first night).

Out of all of those choices, I've only eaten at Teppan Edo. I love it, and highly recommend it! I've heard great things about Tutto Italia, too, though. It seems like Rose & Crown gets mixed reviews, but I do want to eat there someday. If you're looking to make CLP night really special, you might not want to take the chance. I would bet that Teppan Edo and Tutto Italia are pretty much sure things in terms of getting a good meal and a good experience.

Are we able to make ADRs for the restaurants that aren't open yet (the new Mexican one and Via Napoli)?

What great ADR choices! I can't wait to hear exactly what you end up getting!

We were there around the same time last year. Too funny! We spent the first week at WDW and then 4 days at US.

I'm going to PM you with the rest of my questions since they're a bit more personal! :goodvibes

Michelle,
When were you wanting to go to Le Cellier? I read that you weren't able to get a ressie there, and I might be able to help.

:goodvibesAndrea- i have heard you can't make ressies for the new places just yet, but i am going to keep calling back and asking. you never know. thanks for the info on the other places too- i did end up booking tutto italia and rose and crown, but will probably drop R&C for the new Mexico place if i can get it!

welcome!!! I'll have to go check my pm's!! ;) I will post our ADRs we got tomorrow from work, but we got just about everything we wanted. I now just have to wait for the candlelight package to come out to figure out which night to do it. I did doublebook a few nights, but i am hoping i can cancel those in the next few weeks of the CP packages come out. Plus i want to get the new mexican place for our first night and can't get it yet either. so i ahve booked 'backups'!

Welcome Katie- I will definitely check yours out too. I can definitely give advice on travelling with a large party- be flexible and don't count on anyone else- you need some separate time too! :rotfl:We tended to do our meals together at least. So glad the TR was helpful!!! ;):santa:

so i admit it, i've been a slacker!!! it has been crazy busy at work lately, which infringes on my time on the DIS.......stupid work, actually expecting to well, work. :rotfl2: I had to do a quick one night trip to San Francisco last week for a meeting too- talk about a pain- a 3.5 hour flight each way for just one night? ugh. Missed my two guys as well and William actually asked when mama was coming home! I was so happy to hear that.

So the planning has continued- we have booked all of our ADRs, in fact, i have 'sinned' and double booked a few nights actually. i went back and thought about it and double booked a few since we have a few unknowns still. I will cancel (and offer them up if someone wants them) once we have our plans solid with the CP package. But very excited we got everything we wanted basically.

I'll post up our schedule in the next few days. I seriously doubt we will change it much. It truly is an art and science to balance all our needs and desires!!! :rotfl::confused3 We typically like to do morning EMHs, but it seems we won't even do one this trip. The only ones offered aren't on good days for us. But we do plan to do an evening one at each park except AK.

Getting really excited now- a good friend of mine leaves on Wednesday for WDW, plus a coworker asked for advice this week- she is going end of June. Then ran into an old high school friend at the airport in San Fran (i know, how random is that- not even in my own state!) and he is going next week. Then another friend at a baby shower is going in July. She actually 'gets it' and was pretty 'educated'. All the others looked at me like i had two heads when i started giving advice, well except one- the one going next week did appreciate it a lot! But it's funny how they think you are a bit 'disney crazy'. I guess it is true. but i am crazy and proud of it. I do love dispensing some good disney advice. I even made a little goodie bag for my friend going next week and plan to give it to her tomorrow, including some pins for her son to trade!

I am also preparing for my girls only disneyland trip in early September with my mom, cousin and 2 sisters! I can't wait for that and I keep overshadowing it though with my December trip. i need to get more excited about the DL one though, it will be here before i know it!

So stay tuned- i'll post up our complete plan this week so far, our ADRs and even a few pics of my crazy disney stuff at home- including our peter pan themed nursery! lol:wizard::santa::santa::santa::santa::santa::santa:
