Did I pick a good weekend to go?

Hi,

I just booked a quick weekend getaway wiht the Mouse with friends who have never been to WDW. We are going Jan 23-26. Do you think it will be crowded? Its ther weekend after MLK weekend which I know can be crazy! I'm hoping I picked a good time....we will have 3 little ones 5, 2,and 1.

Any opinions?

We went the week after MLK day for our first trip 2 years ago and it was AWSOME! no lines some things were shut down but only a few. We got more done on that vacation than we have since. My DH and I were just talking about heading back next year at that time. Hope you have a great trip.

What was the weather like?

the weather was great! warm 70s during the day, night time got chilly one night it was down right freezing! we wore shorts during the day sweet shirts at night. It was warm enough to swim most of the time a few mornings the pool was very foggy- It rained a few times but never bad and never for a long time.

You picked a perfect weekend.

It is one of the slowest times of the year, and the weather will be more mild which is good for your young ones. It won't be cold, but don't expect to be hanging at the Water Parks or riding Kali River Rapids

Its also historically one of the drier months as far a rainfall goes in Florida.

Hi, we go every year in Jan. We already booked our trip for Jan16-23. It's a great time to go. Lines are small. It's not too hot. It can get cold some nights. Last year we didn't go out one day because it was so cold. We don't swim usually at this time of the year. Too chilly for me but we did see several people in the pool. Just take a sweatshirt and you will be fine. Have fun. Where are you staying? We will be at the Wilderness Lodge.

Thanks for all the responses and reassurance! I was hoping it was going to be an off time with little lines. We are staying at the Beach Club. I have DVC and go many times a year but never tried January. I've also heard that the fireworks, spectromagic and fantasmic are shown only on cetain days in the off season. Does anyone know when they are shown?
