Did I Overreact?

I don't know what I think.....I get mad at the stupidest things with my DBF, and he is just the best guy.....so I guess I just want to say Happy Birthday!
It sounds like your hubby did try and he loves you! Have a great B-day and celebrate like crazy!!! :goodvibes

In all fairness to the OP's husband, it isn't always possible to take children to the workplace.

Tough-he should have treated the situation as if she had already left for the evening--what would he have done then(no question mark, son+iced tea+laptop=not good, sorry!)
He would have brought the kids, found someone to come and watch them, or stayed at home--any of those would have been acceptable..

I would be more than mad--he would never have even left the house because *I* would have left first, to tell the truth.

OP, Happy Birthday. I'm glad you were able to salvage something out of your b'day (chocolate always helps).

Look on the bright side: I called my 'baby' sister to wish her a happy 37th and found out that her b'day started at 2am, with her oldest puking in his bed with a 105 fever. Long story short, he went through 4 sets of bedding and has strep. At least we laughted our butts off about it 12 hours later, but at the time, she was pretty darn peeved.

Okay, he needs to arrange the babysitter NOW for next year so that you get your night out with the girls.

Yeah, let's look on the bright side of the situation. Your birthday was a bust, but now you are practically OWED a fabulous UNbirthday. You can ask for the moon! And you have a story that will be good for years (once the hurt feeling are overcome.)

Hmmm, what would I ask for if I were in your situation...:scratchin

--A weekend getaway with some of my girls?

I don't know hmm...when I was fourteen, my mom forgot my birthday - she felt so guilty she bought me a stereo. Which was a huge deal back then.

I'm a pretty practical person though - I would settle for sleeping in and having my laundry done for me.

Being practical is NO FUN. You should milk for all its worth, that way next year he will be practically begging you to do what ever you want for your birthday and mean it since he knows that payback is a witch ;)
