We plan on gong to WDW next summer and want to stay at BCV. We own at VWL and BWV, so I booked as many days as I good using my VWL points at VWL (It's our 2nd choice). I booked all week days, and left the weekend open, which I'll use the BWV points for. At the 7 month window I'll call and try to change the entire reservation to BCV, if not I'll book the remaining days at VWL. I thought weekend availability might be better to try to snag at 7 months, this used to be the case, but I haven't had to do this for years, so I hope it's still the same.

Also,on a side note, we're staying 8 nights, with the new booking system, should I call for the first night only, then call back the next day for the remaining days. MS told me that if I book the first 7 nights that day, I'd have to call back 7 months from that 8th night, is that right?

Quick question ... when are you going and what size villa do you have?!?!?

We have an 8 night stay at BCV in a Ded 2BR/2Q and are hoping to trade for VWL at the 7 month mark! :goodvibes

7/13 - 7/21 and I want a lock off. I'm 5 pts short of the 9 nights, so I'm booking a 1br for the night of the 21st, hoping I won't have to switch rooms. When are you going?

You can book 7 nights on the first call, then call back the next day and book the eighth night (assuming that all are available). Best of luck -- Suzanne

I wonder if you could book two reservations at VWL at the 11 month point, the latter one for the weekend nights. Then at the 7 month mark, try to shift the reservations to BCV. If you can't, try to switch the weekend reservation to BCV. If you can't, just link the two VWL reservations together to make one reservation.

I'm a little apprehensive to believe this... It really doesn't seem fair if it is true. Have you (or anyone) had the occasion to do this?

Why wouldn't it be fair? People are "walking" reservations the same way, except they start a week early, each day add a night and cancel the first night until they get the days they want.

While I have not personally made such a reservation, there are many members who have reported success in doing so. Check out post #58 in this thread http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1898244&page=4

Many have speculated that DVC is actually ecouraging longer stays with this new booking policy, because they save on housekeeping and some adminstrative costs. Ths booking policy combined with the elimination of the DBD waitlist does seem to make it harder to end up with those involuntary split stays that occur when members can only find availability for one or two nights at any particular resort. Best of luck -- Suzanne
