DId BLT use reconditioned furn ??

Wow! You all are making me feel a lot better about not buying there. It's a shame the furniture is cheap! I would be so disappointed. I have had a Kidani stay, it is holding up well. I wonder who the buyer was for BLT?

BLT is a nice resort, but for some reason, their choices were odd.

Thin dark plastic laminate for the cabinets and tables shows finger prints and is very delicate. The colors for the walls and carpet are very lite and shows dirt. The missing soap dish in the shower is also weird.

We have stayed at BLT 3 times now and each time the rooms had damage that I wouldn't expect. Damaged light fixture over the dining table, stained couch, and a broken kitchen cabinet door. Someone is very rough on the rooms.

Do you think that BLT attracts a different class of cash Guest due to it's location?

Yep. You can stay at BLT cheaper then any of the deluxe resorts so, yea BLT is the value version of the deluxes'. Plus if you rent points you can stay cheaper then you can in a value resort....The more the building falls apart the more our dues will increase. We do have a vested interest in the buildings condition.

DW and I contacted DVC member satisfaction team yesterday by email with our issue. Computer automated response said we would be contacted within 5 business days. DW just received a phone call and they are refunding our point difference. This makes us feel a lot better about the recent visit to BLT! :thumbsup2

Your message encouraged me to also send an email to satisfaction team yesterday and got a phone call today apologizing for all of the issues we had during our stay 2 weeks ago. I was surprised that they responded within 24 hours of me sending out my email.

I am happy that Members are contacting Disney and that Disney is contacting Members.

I just wish that Disney would do their job correctly and not create the problems to begin with.

I have to say, I think the bigger problem is the fact that housekeeping is not properly cleaning the villas. When we stayed there last month there was a stain on the couch and other areas in the villa was not clean. My family stayed off site last year in a condo and it was 100 times cleaner than Disney on site. If it was cleaned properly the furniture might hold up better. The cleaning staff is not doing there job and hasn't been for some time now. Yes the furniture is not as good as other resorts, but if it is cleaned and maintained it should last for some time. I don't think that anyone would dis agree that there is some housekeeping issues at Disney.

Disney doesn't like to take rooms out of service for maintenance. We have been told this several times when we received a room that had water leaks or other major problems.

The 3% DVC breakage inventory seems to be used as a income item instead of being used to maintain the rooms.

Just returned from our 3rd stay at BLT and just like the other two, the villa was in great condition.:thumbsup2
