It's 62 degrees, damp cold wind and raindrops falling...OF COURSE we have a soccer game! Alumni game today...guess who scored the first goal!

; I think the final was like 5-1 with Allie putting the first goal on the scoreboard! Thank goodness the game only lasted an hour...was getting a little "uncomfortable" toward the end! Allie came by and ate dinner with us...leftover chicken squash soup and sure was good after being out this evening!

We absolutely love living in a small town BUT, the downside, is when a tragedy happens everyone knows the family involved. One of our local, beloved, 4th grade math teachers died in an auto accident this morning on the way to school. Horrible accident not far from her home; apparently, the load on an 18 wheeler shifted on a curve causing the truck to cross over into her lane. Heartbreaking. Her son was a year ahead of Allie in school and Katie's class included her daughter. Katie played ACE volleyball with her so they know the family well. We're all just heartbroken....3 days before school breaks for the Christmas holidays and a week before Christmas. 
Managed to get through my final Christmas shopping and Katie and a friend came for dinner but it's been a rough day.
Day started out in the most horrible way.
No Ma'am, it's not at an entrance to a main building AND... (hint) ... not at the BOARDWALK INN but in the Boardwalk area.
Iāve had serious brain fog the past few days.

I know...we've devastated. I feel so bad for her students! I get those days too...walking around like a zombie! Trying to stay focused these past few days has been hard. Determined to finish the trees today and did get a couple of "goodies" done!
Yes, this is outside a food service in one of the Boardwalk resorts.
Now you're in the right spot. I thought the "theme" with the carousel horse would make this easy since the Christmas decorations are based on "Boardwalk items" and they have the carousel display inside the Beach Club lobby. This is in the outside area between the YC/BC and close to a food service but not related to that food service. Just tell me what Christmas decoration this is on.
Yay...it's a wreath! Actually, it's on the wall along the outside walkway; I think it's close to Beaches 'n Cream...it's been a few years since I took the photo!
Last night we were watching the NCAA Volleyball playoffs...YAY TEXAS AGGIES...first time they've ever made it to the Championship game winning in THREE...AND the Texas High School State Football games on the computer. Tonight it's high school football on computer and Oklahoma/Alabama football on TV; tomorrow Texas A&M/Miami and high school football and Sunday Volleyball Championship game and pro football...all while I'm working on Christmas cookies and candies and starting to wrap gifts!
Meanwhile...here's a new crop that kinda describes the way my head feels!

First ever College Football Playoff game to be 0-0 at half-time! Dang wind is awful and A&M is having kicking issues...neither of their kickers can hit the side of a barn today! Cousins son, Justin, sent me a pre-game picture; he said the crosswind will knock you over! Gonna be a long 2nd half!

But DID have a nice laugh this afternoon! Was walking back into the house after getting our mail; a RED Suburban was driving by and I heard the driver yell, "Merry Christmas...I love your yard decorations!" I turned around to yell "thank you" and the DRIVER of the car was SANTA!
