It's kind of funny and ironic at the same time. Valarie was attracted to the handsome rock star image EVH had back in the late 70's and 80's, like most young women were. Steven Spielberg on the other hand was a geeky looking guy back then and couldn't possibly complete with the like of a superstar rock idol, not then, not now. Compare the two lives up to today though and it's obvious to even the most jaded person that VB would have been better off with Steven Spielberg. He's lived a pretty clean normal life, has more money than most countries do, and by accounts, a good human being. Plus has had a positive affect on American culture with some of his movies.

EVH on the other hand peaked years ago and looks terrible today. The years of drug abuse and the rock star lifestyle has taken it's toll. Him and his brother were so wrapped up in drugs and alcohol that they couldn't even attend Van Halen's entry into the R&R Hall of Fame. As a former huge fan of VH and their music, a veteran of many of their concerts, I was beyond disappointed.

In the old fable of the tortoise and the hare, it looks like Mr Spielberg, playing the role of the tortoise, won the race in the end. It seems there's some justice to the universe after all. The nerd wins in the end.

Go Steven, go Steven, go Steven.....

Drug use with Eddie Van Halen, her brief stint with Steven Spielberg to include sleeping with him (she was about 18 or 19 at the time), her first kiss with a woman, her being the first to cheat in her marriage....

Did she mention how she use to snitch on Mackenzie Phillips on the set of One Day At a time????

I felt bad for the Spielberg Kids. I thought VB was a jerk for saying what she did about him on Oprah. She could have said we were dating for a few months & leave it at that. I guess she is desperate to sell her book.

Yo, let's take it easy on Eddie, now. Granted he's had his share of problems, but he's also the rock guitar god of all time, hero to a lot of people. He's better at playing the electric guitar than Spielberg is at making movies, IMHO (and this isn't a knock on Spielberg in any way). And I'm sure he loves garlic.

Yeah, that's where I agree, she was a little crude (or tactless) about how she said that. He's got 7 kids.

I personally don't like all this "transparency" (as Dr. Phil called it,) of celebs needing to give us all the details of their lives.

VB said she didn't want to hide all the details of her life any longer. She blamed that on her weight gain. Stuffing it all in. Well, there is a difference between hiding and PRIVACY.

We have people like Ellen Degeneres crying on air about her dog, Iggy. VB outing people she slept with. Celebrity Rehab going through their recovery and what started them drinking & drugging in the first place. Delta Burke talking about admitting herself to a psych facility (right after Britney got all the publicity for being in one,) because she's OCD or something...

Then we have people like Britney Spears, who is hounded 24/7, seeing how these people get attention for doing that, and feels that's what she needs to do to get attention.

Larry Birkhead who parades little Danielynne around for tabloid picture showings ( and money), like he's her p*mp.

The Jolie-Pitts, Reese Witherspoon, Sarah Jessica Parker & DH: Matthew Broderick, who want some privacy when they are with their kids, but can't get it.

And the paparazzi don't know where to draw the line. Nor do they care any longer, since many of the celebs don't care.
