Did anyone watch Rock Star: INXS last night?

If *I* ran this show ... .. next week they'd all be singing the same 2 INXS songs and would be isolated so they couldn't see how the others did.

I was thinking the same thing! That they should all sing the same song and be compared against one another.

They said they liked the way he took charge and was very self-confident. Basically, they had good and bad to say about each person. I can tell you that I do NOT envy them this week. They are down to four cream of the crop performers -- there will be no more easy "outs" like there have been up until this week. I personally don't care for JD's personality at all but he really is talented musically and the band seems to really like him, so I would put him on equal footing with all the rest at this point.

Actually, they probably had the MOST negative to say about Mig. A) his main experience is theater, B) he seems "uncomfortable" rocking it out, and C) he's too nice/not agressive enough.

This week will be very interesting!

Also, either I missed Suzie's songs or they didn't show them. If they did show her 2 songs, can someone please tell me what they'll be. I REALLY hope she gets to encore Soul Life, because I absolutely love that song! I have sung it all week.

...TOTALLY agree! I think JD's TOO cocky, but he seems to be the most "INXS"-ish, or 'right' for the band....JMHO !

I go back and forth with my favorite. I really like Suzie and no they didn't show what songs she got. Mig is also a favorite.

I like Marty but he just doesn't seem like an inxs type. His eyes are very intense.
I agree about JD being cocky and obnoxious at times. I wouldn't be surprised if he is the winner though.

I just wanted to clarify about Marty. I think he would make a great solo act. I really liked Trees.

Did anyone get the impression that the band members might not like the idea that Marty would come in and "tell them what they should be doing with their band?" Just wondered if his strategic thinking might actually be perceived as a drawback. I agree that JD seems like the best fit, but I'm glad they're onto his troublesome traits. I was surprised to hear them say that "hands down, Susie has the best voice." I didn't know they considered her to be the best singer. Then she totally blew the interview...Sheesh! This is going to be close right up to the end, I guess, or at least they're pretending it will be, to keep us all tuned in!

I have been a Mig fan since day 1 but I don't think the band cares all that much for him (he's to nice, not agressive enough,) and I also think that they thought Marty wanted to change them completely with a new direction. He is right it is not the same era as it was when INXS was a huge band. And the way the band says that these people will have to handle all the media attention, correct me if I am wrong, but after the announcement of the new lead singer that should all die down, I think INXS thinks of themselves as the same caliber as the Stones! They have some major work to do to climb back up the stardom ladder themselves, and a new lead may or may not do it. Times change. YEs Susie really blew the interview, actually I hate to say it but JD did the best and he is talented but the band better take into consideration that it will be all about him if he is chosen. After the interviews I think Susie and Mig are at the bottom now unless they really pull off their songs. IMO Mig is still the best fit, who in their right mind wouldn't want to travel and have a strong bond with someone that is "nice" And he does have the rockstar look.

Jordis was too busy trying to keep her jeans up (did you see her make those tugs at her pants a few times???)

I re-watched this show a few times, and Jordis touched her pants ONE time. Although I was truly saddened to see her leave......I was GLAD to see her go as I think she will be much better on her own than to be with INXS! Jordis has great talent, and will be very successful!

Aahhhh......The Man Who Stole The World just came on the radio ~ I have goosebumps imagining Jordis as singing this one!!

Have you ever seen the movie Warlock? It's old but that's what Marty reminds me of. lol I love his voice but that likeness freaks me out!

I have never seen the movie Warlock. Marty reminds me of the guy in Silence of the Lambs. Creepy..... I know I am in the minority, but I do not care for Marty, although he is a little better now that he has toned it down a bit. Still do not care for him.

I think Suzie is getting a little too cocky.....in last week's rehearsal, it showed her saying *encore #3*. I was glad to see her in the bottom three with the I Can't Make You Love Me. She did okay with it.....but she was nothing special.

Do you truly think that it just goes on the *public votes* for the bottom three each week?? Just a thought.......

Can't wait to see the show this week!

I was thinking that too because they seemed like they didn't like it. But then Kirk said that he did and I got confused

Even the band members aren't agreeing at this point. The only thing they agreed on was that Suzie has the best voice. There were those that thought her communication problems during the interview were a bad sign, but at least one guy thought she'd be fine with a little work. While they thought all MiG's theater background was a minus, they admitted he looked the most like a rock star, although he seemed, "too nice" (whatever that means--honestly, they want to work with a jerk, just because that seems more "rock star-like"? Whatever..). Some said Marty and JD had the best answers to questions, but some thought JD was just good at saying what they wanted to hear, and might even flip out at some point. Some liked Marty's leadership abilities and "vision for the future," while others thought he might be too controlling.

It is anybody's gig now.

Sorry, but I've gotta say this for all of us who thought INXS's new song sucked. If that's what they're going to be putting out, they need someone to help them shape a new image. I'm not saying Marty's the only one who could do this, or his style is best for them, but right now I don't see them having much style at all. Very disappointing because I loved them so much "back in the day" .

I agree with everyone here in their assessments. I also kind of laughed when the INXS guy talked about how overwhelming the media attention would be when the lead singer was chosen. Was he serious? I absolutely agree as well that they're going to be asking for trouble if they pick JD. When Mig rattled off the shows that he has been in, and then named the bands he had been with, I don't think it played in his favor. The band names were kind of dorky, and I think it reminded them that he wasn't "edgy." By the way, I should know, because I happen to have been the lead singer for the band with the most un-cool name in the history of bands...Ready? Out to Lunch!
