Did anyone watch Rock Star: INXS last night?

Well I still love Marty. I do hope that he wins. But if INXS is looking to replace a person similar to Michael, then I think they are going to pick JD. Out of the three left I think he most resembles Michael. If Marty doesn't win then I do hope it is JD. Mig, (nice guy) but doesn't seem to have the complete package.

:mad:ARGGGHHHH! My %^$#$%& broadcaster is NOT airing the regulary scheduled Rockstar show tonight!:badpc: They've replaced with some stupid "My name is Earl" premiere. That show looks like it will last all of 3 weeks.

At least the season finale is still on the schedule.

EDITED.....ooops! They did air the show...the on-screen guide was just messed-up. I really wish the 30 minute show was longer. We see so little of what actually happens. Marty gave me the impression that he really thinks little of Mig's talent. Which just means Marty has good taste! :rotfl:

I think JD pulled off his songwriting thing. I wish we could have heard the full lyrics of their songs.

I also agree that Mig has made a mistake with picking Bohemian Rhapsody.

I agree that Mig choosing Bohemian Rhapsody is a huge miscalculation. It's going to remind them again that he comes from a Broadway kind of background! His reputation for being too nice isn't going to be served by this song either, unless he pulls an Ozzy Osbourne and live bat stunt at the same time! :rotfl: It seems as though it'll be between Marty and JD. I wish I had last night's show on DVD, because I could have sworn that during the preview part for tonight's finale, they showed a quick clip of JD on stage with INXS and waving as though it was the end of the show! Please tell me I'm wrong. I know they could never be that careless! It was a super fast shot though, and I couldn't see who else was on the stage. Did anyone else see that? :confused3

Do you think that Mig possibly choosed that song because he knows he doesn't have a chance at winning and wanted to show case his talent? To help open other doors?
I don't think he is right for INXS but I do think he has some great talent for other areas of music.
I think it was a very poor song choice for him and I didn't really understand why he picked it.
I really like Marty but not sure if he is the best fit with the band. JD sound and looks definately fit the band but is that what they one? Or do they want to branch out?
I wonder also if the winner is given a contract with them. Or if it doesn't work out they can drop them.....

....is anyone else practically jumping outta their skin waiting for tonight's BIG FINALE???!?!?!?! :hyper:

Anticipation and dread .....

I think BoRap is a poor choice for Mig, but he was so excited to be able to do it. The one hope I have is he's wearing something *reasonable* -- not the 1980's outfits ... jeans, t-shirt, leather jacket .....

As much as I dislike JD, I think he'll be the one to win. Last night, after all these weeks of sitting in the corner reading his newspaper, my DH asked me, "So who do you think'll win?" :rotfl:

From JD's blog:

September 15th

Today I woke up to find a brand new Honda Civic in the driveway. Cool. I think I'm going to donate it to a family I read about from New Orleans. Sometimes when things are given to us, we should think about directing that generous energy into something or someone else.

I would like to thank you all for a wonderful summer! Please hold on to your dreams and make each moment count. For in the end all we have are our memories. I hope to make music with INXS. If I end up going home, I promise that I will continue to create music. I now have so much inspiration from you all that I feel like I need ten arms to write everything down.
Although I really think JD is very talented, I just cannot seem to get over how he acted in the beginning towards the other singers, and something about his blog entry doesn't sit right with me either, considering how he showed himself in the beginning of the show..........so now he wants me to believe that he is considering giving his Civic to someone in New Orleans, I suppose I am thinking.........well yeah he probably will do that if he does win and he can afford to buy a more "rock star" type of vehicle. I think he has been saying and doing things now that he thinks is what the others want to hear. He also says that he has changed since the show began, it's hard for me to believe that this amazing transformation only took 12 weeks.
I have loved Mig since the beginning, but now with his song choice, I think he has put the last nail in his coffin, so given the remaining two I am going to root for Marty, since I think he is the only sincere one out of those two.

So, tonight is the big night. :cheer2: :Pinkbounc :bounce:

I think J.D. will get the job.

I'm anxious to see Mig perform Bohemian Rhapsody (even though my favorite rendition was the one Constantine Maroulis did :teeth: ) - since he was in a Queen musical I'm expecting something big from Mig tonight - let's see if he delivers or not.

Marty is so talented but I just can't see him fronting INXS - Marty will have a good career as a solo artist.

I'm going to DVD the show tonight and watch it tomorrow. I can't stay up that late due to having to rise real early. Anyway, PLEASE don't post who wins tomorrow on an individual thread. I will NOT look at this thread until after I watch the show. I'm almost tempted to stay up and watch it, but I really need my sleep. Thanks!!!

While Marty was good with Wish You Were Here, I am wondering if he almost should have picked a different song?? The band knows he can sing this song well......showcase another song?? I don't know......

I was thinking the same thing - I wonder how INXS will take it that Marty is singing something he just sang - but then again they did tell them to pick ANYTHING - I think Marty went with the SAFE choice for himself.

Jumping in on this one. Love MiG, would be ok with JD, just not seeing Marty in the role. I think they'll pick JD who has grown on me the last couple of weeks. I actually thought that JD would win it after the first week, but then fell in love with MiG, but it is all for naught, because he really doesn't seem to have a chance. Sorry MiG! :guilty: Glad to hear him sing Bo Rhap, go out in a blaze of glory my little MiG. :cool1:

Thinking about it -- do you think they'll make them sing, then eliminate one ... then make them sing again and do a final elimination? How eeeeevil that would be!

Gotta agree with you on Marty's song choice. Why redo a song? A song he already did well :confused3

I think JD is the only one who made a smart song choice.

I sure hope so! It's an hour right? They can't only be singing one song each. :confused3 I wonder if they'll show a recap of each singer's performances throughout the season.

I'm almost thinking that they are going to have each of them sing the song that they wrote at the studio with Andrew???

I might have missed it, but what songs did J.D. pick to sing?

Kimber79 ~ Your GD is adorable!

J.D. is singing "you can't always get what you want" by the Stones;

Mig is singing "Bohemian Rhapsody" by Queen; and

Marty is singing "wish you were here" by Pink Floyd.

They were told to pick 1 song.
