Did anyone not get their first choice for free dining?

We got our 1st choice: AKL standard view Sept 13-19. We got all the ADRs we wanted too! I was shocked that 7:30 on a Fri. night at CG was still open!!
We did have backups ready but I'm glad we didn't need them.

I want CSR August 13th - 20th
They had king but no standard.. So I went with CBR

Same dates as you and already had it booked atCSR !!!! It took me three days and my TA telling me she could not get them to switch my ressie to free dining and finally I found someone who would and got my first choice of CSR. as I said I had it booked with AAA before dining so I can't quess why switching was a big deal. CSR is booked during that week and it's not with people on the dining plan because it was sold out almost before it started.

Oh well! I wanted CR, garden view 9/30-10/9...not available. Then I wanted WL, parking lot (cheapest view), 9/30-10/9 ...not available.

We rejected POP 9/30-10/9, $1068 (mostly because of location. I really wanted to be more central to restaurants.)

We finally accepted POR 9/30-10/9, $1656. Not thrilled, but I'm hearing good things about POR and I like the boat to DD. Frustrated with MK area resorts though!!

I had originally booked Poly GVC, but when I wanted to switch to free dining, was told only LV available. It seems I had to start my reservations from scratch.
I am now booked in a standard garden view room. Saving a lot more money this way!
We will be there 8/21-29!

LOL - sent my Travel Agent a list of resorts in order of preference combined with dates in order of preference - I think about fifteen choices total. Not only did I (well, she) get my first choice, she was able to add two days on the front of the reservation a few days later.

I originally booked CSR 9/19-9/25, but then my ILs decided they wanted to come along, so I changed to POR AB with no problems.

No problem getting our dates at CR tower (8/17 - 8/28)...YAHOO!

However, I might have to "tweak" the dates just a tad as DS's school has not yet finalized their start date...usually very end of August. Doesn't the schoolboard understand that MY VERY IMPORTANT WDW VACATION PLANS are pending for this??!! Maybe we should call them...again.

We got out first choice ADRs (incl. CG at 8pm w/ 9pm scheduled fireworks! ) but our second-choice hotel - I wanted BC standard, and we got YC standard. No complaints here!

Got our first choice when I called at 7:00 am on April 4th....

By 7:20am, we were all set!

Pop Century, September 27th-Oct 4th. Adr's all done(even though I called a few times to make changes) had no problem whatsoever.

171 more days!

We got our first choice, 8 nights at Poly GV but we had to move the dates by a few days. Not a problem because at that point we hadn't purchased our plane tickets.

Now we have to wait all summer to go!

We stayed there in June of 2004. Last year we rented points from a DVC friend of mine at stayed at a one bedroom vila at BW. Even though our room was huge we missed Poly SO much. We just love the atmosphere of the resort. Last time we stayed in Tokelau which we loved but this time we are requesting a newly renovated room. I hope you enjoy your stay. Being right on the monorail is so nice. With the August heat I'm sure we will be glad our hotel is just a short ride away.

Amen lovepooh. After staying at the CR, we were hooked on the monorail. We usually go in December/ January and stay at one of the Epcot resorts. The free dining was too good to pass up. I told DH if we're going in August during the heat and rain , I've gotta be on the monorail. We've always wanted to stay at the Poly and we're celebrating our 20th anniversary.
