I spoke with Claire Bilby's voicemail, her assistant and today I finally spoke with Claire. She apologized for the letter and said in the distribution it was sent out to some regular owners as well as Cast Member-owners.
I said I understood that a mistake could happen but then I asked about The very negative tone of the letter. She said knew about the letter and that it was necessary because there was an issue with some cast members.
I thanked her for the call and we hung up.
However, I am still blown away by the letter, whether it was meant for me or not. I, having been a marketing director for a very large utility, I know sending this kind of letter out is self-defeating. It alienates the troops are leaves an uncohesive team. I say team but it's obvious
DVC's team is top heavy. Ths should have been handled by mid-management and filtered to the rest of the staff in a meeting. This broad "scatter gun" approach is not the way to send a message.
I'm afraid this
take no prisoners approach might be the up and coming management style at Disney. In fact, Walt Disney's management style was very much like this approach!
