I know this has nothing to do with travel/Disney and its not even close to the stress that some parents have to deal with on here. I just want to see if there are other parents that have freaked out about this. or I'm just a crazy dad.

I have been freaking out for the last couple weeks because my DD (7) was getting her tonsils taken out. I know, people kept telling me that its not a big deal. I could only think about the worst things that could happen. I heard every bad story out there. We debated about not doing it the night before. but went though with it.

She got them out out a couple days ago. I am so happy (so far) She is sleeping better already. even with the swelling. The doctor said "biggest ones he has seen in a long time" I can not say enough good things about Children's Hospital in Boston. I'm just very happy.

I think it's perfectly acceptable to worry about your child when they go under anesthesia! My son is going in for his ninth procedure in a few weeks. We know how he reacts to the drugs but we're still nervous. There is no such thing as a "simple" procedure when it's your kid!

By the time they took DD's tonsils out I was so tired of her being sick with strep it was more of a relief then anything. Yes, I was "worried" about her having surgery but the surgery itself was so fast I barely had time to get to the waiting room and pour a cup of coffee before the nurse was there to say she was done.

They told me it was going to be 45 minutes. About 15 minutes of waiting they had us in recovery.

Ninth!! I don't know how you do it. I just can't think of spending that much time stressing out. I can't imagine that you ever get used to it.

I don't know how good other hospitals handle things. Boston Children Hospital could not do more.

Believe me, bad does exist out there. It is all about the surgeon.

My oldest who is 19 now, had open heart surgery at 4mon old and her gallbladder out at 16.

I wouldnt' say I "freaked" out- but I was worried when ds had his pyloric stenosis surgery at 7weeks (I asked about alternatives and the doc shrugged and said, "There are none, he will starve to death")- I was worried when his appendix ruptured at 4 years and I was worried when he had bilateral hernias repaired six weeks after that! :scared1: All the same surgeon btw. That man was GOOD! :thumbsup2

I'm glad your dd is better (had my tonsils out at 18- best thing I had ever done up to that point!) Hopefully she will improve even more! :woohoo:
