Did Adam Lambert just kill his career before it even started?

Ok VCR. But DVRs are very common these days. My mom is about the only person that I know who doesn't have one...she still uses a VCR.

I don't know any 9 year olds that are up doing school work at 10pm? What do they do between 3 and 10 pm? :confused3 I have a nearly 9 year old.

At 11 I can see on occasion and non school nights but 10pm regularly?

What time do they get up for school??? I can't imagine that if they are regularly staying up past 10 pm that they are getting enough rest when most kids have to be up by 7:30 at the latest. It is recommended that kids that age get 10-11 hours of sleep a night.

Did your grandkids watch the AMA's? A broadcast that was rated TV 14.

No, they didn't get to watch the awards this year. And, if they had been watching, they would have watched with their parents, and their parents would have turned the TV off when they saw Adam's performance.

They are not up every night until 10 doing homework, but once or twice a week they are. They are up early for school, they have to leave for the bus at 7:30 each morning. Recommendations for 10-11 hours of sleep are great if you can get it. Most people don't get the recommended amount of sleep --adults or children.

Did the face crotch grind bother you? That is what I am complaining about being on REGULAR TV. That and the incident with his hands by or on the womans crotch. (hard to tell which it was on youtube small screen)

And I agree that the network had to of known what he was going to do which is why they put him on late. Which is why I will voice a complaint with the them also.

Why on earth would you complain to the station when you didn't see it on TV?

Someone made a joke earlier when it was reported that the FCC got about 1500 complaints about Lambert's performance. The punch line was that out of that 1500 only 1499 actually saw it broadcast.

I purchased Adam's CD today. It contains the song he did last night on the show. I didn't think it sounded very good last night. It sounds great on the CD. In fact, I love the CD. It is very good.

I bought it today too, Peg! While I don't think his choice of performance was a good one, I still like him and will continue to listen to his music. :thumbsup2

Wow, you GO Adam!! 15 pages and you didn't even win AI!!

Waitaminute... WHO DID??? :surfweb:

I bought it on itunes this evening after seeing the performance on YouTube. I thought, even though the singing was bad, the song was catchy. I liked it enough to check it out, played a few other songs on the album and bought the whole darned thing. And this from someone who has never seen AI or heard Lambert sing before. :rotfl:

I didn't watch the American Idol season he was on it at all. Was it last year? I didn't watch it once. I did see a video of him speaking at the American Idol Experience attraction in WDW--no singing or dancing.

So, the only performance I have ever seen of his was the youtube video for the AMA award show. And let me say I thought it was horrible in every way. Forget about the cheap shock factor! I could get over the inappropriateness of that, but that terrible sheiking of his? Was that supposed to be singing? He's terrible!

And those ugly S&M costumes on the dancers? :scared1: I deem those an assault on the eyes of anyone in the viewing audience.

Watching that video, I'm not inclined to give AI another try this season. Talk about a no-talent weirdo! If that's the best talent AI can find in America, I'm not interested in seeing the program.

Wasn't he a presenter or something with one of the Disney Channel girls? I'm sure that has been talked about on a 15+ page thread that at one point I would have sworn was going to be closed by now. :lmao:

LOL, I didn't see it, but I read that he presented with Demi Levato!

speaking of the AI experience video, i was pretty angry that they had all the kids from this current season plus Carrie and Jordin talking away, yet David Cook barely had any screentime during a song. srsly?? :rolleyes1

why Kris Allen of course....some of us do remember him. ;)

Now I did not see the performance and since anywhere I could have seen the video seems to have pulled it due to copyright stuff I can't comment on the whole thing. I have seen stills of some of it and what I have seen was a bit over the top but some of it was ho hum I've seen it before but with girls instead of a glammed out guy. His singing has always been screeching and screaming but some folks like that.

Will it end his career? Hardly..it seems the more controversy the better..nice guys do finish last. If you are a fan of his this won't change your mind, if you disliked him this will reinforce that and if you never heard of him before it could go either way.

Really??? WTH is wrong with them...don't they know DC is the one they should show the most?

i know RIGHT!? i was so excited to finally go in there and see it last month when i went and i got there and they barely had him in there. the first time i even missed it because i BLINKED!

Eh, I didn't see anything worth anything, singers trying to get attention.

Now if he had a lower wardrobe malfunction, OK NOW we could talk.:lmao:

Oh, no..I do not think that they should change their programming to suit my needs. I did say that I would hold a network to higher standards than a cable channel. I don't think I complained about it being on tv. There are lots of shows I don't feel my kids are ready to watch, but I would never protest the fact they are aired. I like lots of shows my kids aren't old enough for. I know some people will probably think I'm a helicopter parent, and I probably am. I guess I'm just trying to hold on to their innocence as long as I can. Is it a lost cause? Yes. Do I give up? No.

CaliforniaDreamin--I think you sound like a great parent:thumbsup2 I also censor what my kids watch (like RadioNate I am far more concerened about violence than sex though--the news is a biggie, worse is any show that makes violence out to be fun:eek:) and, like you, I expect that to me MY job, not the networks.

I thought it was inappropriate, but yes, I have seen it before with other singers. Don't like it when they do it, either. What's with all these singers wanting to simulate sexual acts so much during their performances? Can't they just sing, and maybe dance? Why add all the other tasteless crap? Just because clothes are on, does that make it right? Where do you draw the line? Personally, I wouldn't want my kids watching that performance. There's nothing wrong with them being young and enjoying simple things, and not having to worry about seeing someone simulating oral sex, S&M, and making their sexual preferences known to the world....who cares? Really....why the need to share this with the whole world? Like someone else mentioned... if you can really sing, there's no need to add the 'shock value'. These people are seeking attention, good or bad. Why can't they keep some things private instead of sharing it with the world. Not everyone wants to watch these things. I'm not a prude, but you can see that stuff in enough places.....why have to worry about seeing it on regular TV, too?

From what I've been watching from youtube, all the performances sucked. I really disliked what Adam did and what the hell to Lady Gag Gag or whatever her name is, was she wearing?? Seriously, yuck. I don't like any of the music that was played Live from the AMA's, in my opinion, it was all terrible. Terrible. Terrible. Terrible. To say the very least, it was all very disgusting. I can't believe people love watching/listening to that kind of entertainment, shall I say? If you really love that kind of entertainment, then more power to ya. It's just not for me at all.

I may get some comments saying, "Oh, I thought you liked Adam Lambert!", truth be told, I really don't like where he's taking his music and from an interview I watched he had said something along the lines of, "This album won't have everything that everybody likes, and I plan on doing that for every album I make. I'm going to go my own way on things.", It was something like that, not exactly, and I'm sorry but I don't remember what the name of the interview was or where I saw it at, but what Adam said in that interview was a turnoff, his music for me is a turnoff, in my opinion. What ever happened to, "what your fans want to see from you", not "I'm going to go my own way on things", huh? And for the record, not everybody loves this so called genre, "Glam Rock". No, not even the people who are in the gay community do, sorry. I just don't see how he's going to keep making money the way he's going about things with his music career and all. It's his life, I don't care, but I do not like him anymore, even though, I did love him when he was on American Idol.. but now, not anymore. It was such a turnoff to me.

Think what you want, say whatever you want about my comments, I really don't care.
