We are doing 3 days of Disney and we have 4 young children. My original plan was MK, Dhs, and Epcot. As I'm starting to plan, I'm wondering if we should do two days of MK instead of Dhs. I haven't been to that park since I was a teenager, I think it was MGM last time I was there! But Im having trouble fitting in everything we want to do in one day of MK and I hear a lot of people say Dhs is more of a half day park. We are not doing a park hopper.

My hubby doesn't want to do two days at MK but I feel like there's so much to do, I'd love the extra day. But don't want to miss out if Dhs is really worth it.

Our last two trips we went to AK so we are going to skip that park this year for sure.

With your limited time & your husband's stated preference, I recommend doing 1 day for each park. If your kids are into Star Wars, they'll love the themed offerings at HS and there is also Toy Story Midway Mania there & Fantasmic. There is a lot to do at MK, but there's no way to cover all, or even half, of what Disney offers at WDW in a 3-day trip. I recommend saving the Magic Kingdom for the last day.

With 4 young children, I would definitely do two days at MK rather than one day at DHS. There really isn't much at DHS for young children.

I agree with this. Your husband may like HS, but your youngest kids won't be able ride the best rides there. There is way more ground to cover in MK. I think you need a 2nd day there.

If they are into Star Wars then there is plenty to do. We like to do DHS no matter what but since you have limited time maybe spend it MK. Toy Story Mania is awesome and fantasmic is fun too

Thanks for the feedback! My kids will be (very close to) 2, 4, 6, and 8. None of them have seen any Star Wars although the oldest has expressed interest. There are definitely things I would LOVE to see at DHS but I just feel like at their ages more MK time might be better. I mentioned the idea of park hopper tickets so we could just spend half a day at DHS but he's not crazy about that idea just because hauling all the kids from one park to another is sort of daunting, and I get it. I feel like we'd all enjoy DHS more in a couple years.

Especially if if are going back when your kids are older....skip DHS this time.

At the ages your kids are, I would swap DHS for AK. It's awesome for kids that age. The train out to go see rafiki last summer was awesome for my kids 5,7. And they loved the safari. Look into AK and see. I'm not so sure they would like Epcot. It's really the least little kid friendly park.

Agree with pp, I would do two MK days if you know you'll be back to enjoy DHS in the future. There is so much to do at MK. Maybe show DH a list of rides in each park and rides your kids could ride based on height? That was one thing I loved about MK last year with our then five year old and 9 month old. We could actually all go on rides together since so many in MK don't have a height requirement. It's hard when you've got kids that are different heights and have to swap all the time.

Yes, we will be back again in 2-3 years! We live far away but we have close family who live close by so we try to get to Disney regularly and stay with family for part of our trip.

I do enjoy AK, but we went there our last two trips so we want to do something different. Also our last trip to AK ended up being very traumatic, as my dad had a grand mal seizure while in line for a ride and we left the park by ambulance. To be honest, I'm not up for going back there quite yet. :/

I would send your husband and oldest to HS and do a MK day with rides geared just for them. Everyone is happy that way.

I would absolutely do 2 days of MK. It will enable you to FP your top SIX rides (or allow for do-overs if you prefer). DHS will be there for your next trip, but your kids will LOVE MK this trip.

I would do 2 days at MK. We did 3 there this past June and I could have spent another day there! We skipped HS altogether because there just isn't enough for my kids there right now. We are planning 1 day there on our next trip though.

Since you will be coming back in the future, I would do the two days at MK vs a HS day.

I would skip HS and do MK for 2 days. We are only including HS this year because our 8yr old loves Star Wars and TSMWM. If he wasn't such a fan we would skip HS and spend more time at AK and Epcot.
