I'm surprised they didn't go with the parking garage idea that was originally rumored, even if they aren't planning on expanding out now, it would've given them that flexibility for the future

Originally SWL was going to go into the Echo Lake area pushing out into the parking lot. The current plan doesn't take away any parking so a garage was probably not necessary. Building a garage would have actually led to less flexibility then a surface lot. It's not a big loss if they decide to build a garage in the future and expand the park into the parking lot.

It was a cool spot, one of those little alcoves to hangout and cool off, possibly read a book. It's a victim of change unfortunately
